Edmonton has signed Raphael Lavoie to a one-year, two-way contract extension.

Lavoie was selected in the second-round of the 2019 NHL Draft and appeared in his first seven career NHL games during the 2023-24 season. The 23-year-old forward failed to pick up a point with the Oilers but he led Bakersfield (AHL) in goals (28) and was third in points (50) in 66 games. Given the depth the Oilers have added this offseason, Lavoie will likely start the 2024-25 season in the AHL.

Lavoie has been recalled from the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL with news of the Oilers placing Mattias Janmark and Dylan Holloway on the injured reserve. Lavoie has been held pointless in five games with the Oilers but has seven points (4G / 3A) in five games with the Condors.

Lavoie has yet to pick up a point through five games with Edmonton but had three SOG and a -1 plus/minus and has been loaned to Springfield (AHL) on Tuesday. The 23-year-old winger returns to Springfield, where he was on a heater prior to his promotion with four goals, three assists, 17 PIMs and a +1 plus/minus.

Lavoie had 25 goals, 20 assists, 47 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus through 61 games played with Bakersfield (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension worth $874,125. The 22-year-old right-wing was Edmonton's 2019 second-round Draft Pick (38th overall) and has yet to make his NHL debut.

The Oilers signed Raphael Lavoie to a three-year entry-level contract on March 21st.

The Oilers selected Lavoie in the second round (No.38 overall) in 2019. The 19-year-old centre was traded from Halifax to Chicoutimi midseason and finished the campaign tied for eighth in QMJHL scoring with 82 points (38G / 44A) in 55 games.
