Carolina has signed Riley Stillman to a one-year, two-way contract.

Carolina added some defensive depth early Wednesday morning as the team announced it has signed Riley Stillman to a one-year, two-way contract. The 26-year-old defenseman last played in the NHL in 2022-23 and has four goals and 26 points in 158 career games. He spent the entire 2023-24 season with the Rochester Americans (AHL) and had two goals and six points in 47 games played.

Stillman (upper-body) is expected to be back in the Sabres lineup on Thursday.

Stillman had missed the Sabres' previous game after acquiring an upper-body injury due to a fight vs. Tampa Bay on March 4th but is expected to be back in the lineup Thursday. The 25-year-old defenseman has five assists, 29 SOG, 30 PIMs and a -15 plus/minus through 34 games between Buffalo and Vancouver this season.

Stillman left the Sabres' previous game vs. Tampa Bay after 7:57 TOI due to an upper-body injury after a fight with Tanner Jeannot and will miss Monday's game vs. Edmonton. The 24-year-old has five assists, and a -15 plus/minus through 34 games played and is considered day-to-day for the time being.

The Canucks acquired Riley Stillman from the Blackhawks for Jason Dickinson and a 2024 second-round pick.

Stillman appeared in 52 games with the Blackhawks in 2022, scoring two goals with 10 assists (12 points), while delivering 122 hits and blocking 67 shots. Stillman is likely insurance for Tyler Myers, who suffered a lower-body injury this week.
