Rob Scuderi News
The Kings have acquired Rob Scuderi from the Blackhawks for Christian Ehrhoff.

Scuderi, 37, has been traded twice this season. He was acquired by the Blackhawks earlier in the season as a part of the Trevor Daley trade, but didn’t have a point in 17 games with Chicago. He heads to Los Angeles to provide depth on the blueline, but should play a larger role with the Kings than he did with the Hawks.

Scuderi has cleared waivers and will report to Rockford (AHL).

Scuderi has no points and a minus-6 rating in 17 games since being acquired from Pittsburgh earlier in the season. With the emergence of Erik Gustafsson and Viktor Svedberg, Scuderi’s services seem to be no longer needed.

Scuderi will make his Blackhawks' debut on Tuesday.

Scuderi was traded to the Blackhawks on Monday and will replace David Rundblad in the lineup on Tuesday. Trevor Daley did not fit in Chicago, but they’re hoping that Scuderi will help on their third pair and penalty kill. He will start his Blackhawks career with Michal Rozsival as his D-pair.

The Blackhawks have acquired Rob Scuderi from the Penguins for Trevor Daley.

Scuderi, 36, was three seasons into his second stint with the Penguins after previously winning a Stanley Cup in 2008-09 during his first run in Pittsburgh from 2003-2009. Scuderi, who has served as a healthy scratch recently, has just four assists in 25 games this season.

Scuderi will get back into the Penguins lineup on Saturday.

Scuderi was a healthy scratch in the Penguins win over the Senators on Thursday. In his first three games of the season, the Penguins lost each of them while scoring no points and posting a minus-1 rating. He will replace Adam Clendening.

Scuderi (ankle) is on the ice for the Penguins' morning skate.

It is the first time since Scuderi has skated with his teammates since suffering a broken ankle on October 26. He was originally expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks and it has been just over seven weeks, so he should be back in the lineup soon. His return would be huge for a Penguins blueline who are without four regulars right now.

Scuderi suffered a broken ankle that required surgery in late October. He has begun light workouts and skating, but the next step would be to participate in practice. He was given a six-to-eight week timetable and this would mark the sixth week, so the Penguins will look to have the veteran D-man back in their lineup soon.

Also, Rob Scuderi was OK today. Before yesterday’s game, Scuderi got hit on the top of the head by a puck during warmups — he, like most of the Kings, has not been wearing a helmet in warmups in recent weeks — and required a couple staples to close the wound.

Clearly this injury is nothing to worry about. The veteran Scuderi has a goal and seven points through 54 games.
