Callahan continues to work his way back after offseason hip surgery and his return to the ice on Monday keeps him on pace for a mid-November return. With Callahan missing the first month of the season, it looks like Brayden Point will get a shot to start the year in Tampa Bay.

Callahan missed the Lightning’s final three games of the regular season, but he was on the ice for Monday’s practice and appears to be on track for Game 1. Monitor his status on Tuesday, but all things are pointing towards him playing on Wednesday.

Callahan will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury. Callahan did not take part in the morning skate, but the Lightning are off until Friday, so there’s a chance that he could be back by then. Monitor his status as the week progresses.

Callahan was back on the ice again on Friday and he thinks he will be ready from tomorrow's game vs. the Capitals. Callahan missed five games because of the lower-body ailment. With the top-line clicking without him, he might not land on Stamkos' line upon his return.

Callahan will miss his fifth straight game on Thursday, but he is on pace to return on Saturday vs. Washington. Callahan was back on the ice this morning and participated in penalty kill drills, which is a sign that a player is nearing a return. The Lightning have gone 3-1-0 without Callahan, but he is a key member of their top-6 and will provide a spark for an already sizzling Lightning offence.
