Ryan Callahan News
Ryan Callahan, by his own admission, likely won’t be ready to play when the New York Rangers begin the 2013-14 regular season.

Callahan, the Rangers’ captain, is still going through rehabilitation after shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum this off-season. “To put a date on it or a timeframe it would be a guess," said Callahan. "I think once you start getting into contact then you have a better idea of when you’ll be back.” Although there is no timetable right now, Callahan is not expected to be out for an extended period of time.

After undergoing an MRI this afternoon, the Rangers have just announced their captain will miss 10 days to two weeks with a shoulder subluxation.

This is pretty good news for the Rangers because the injury isn't as serious as originally expected. 10-14 days isn't too bad considering the Rangers only have 6 games in the next 14 days. Keep an eye on who replaces the captain in the lineup as they should receive a boost in fantasy value.

Rangers captain Ryan Callahan (right foot), who has missed the last two games and five of the last eight sounded hopeful this morning in an interview on WFAN that he would be able to return tomorrow night when the Rangers host the Penguins in a crucial Atlantic Division contest.

Callahan remains banged up and has been held out of the last two games. Through 64 games, he scored 26 goals and 48 points.
