McGregor was not able to crack the lineup during his time with the Coyotes and will be reassigned to the Tuscon Roadrunners of the AHL, where he has four points (2G / 2A) in 19 games. In a corresponding move, Zach Sandford was recalled by the Coyotes.

McGregor was originally a sixth-round pick of the Maple Leafs back in 2017 but never signed with the team. The 21-year-old appeared in four games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) last year before returning to the Sarnia Sting (OHL) this year. He was third on the team with 68 points (27G / 41A) in 52 games.
