Spooner did not get into a game during his recall.
Spooner missed Saturday's games with the flu, but will be back in the lineup tonight. Spooner has four assists in his last 10 games and a total of 11 assists in 22 games.
Jordan Caron will draw back into the lineup and Carl Soderberg will shift to centre. Spooner is listed as day-to-day.
In two games with the Bruins this season Spooner has two assists. While with Providence he has recorded 24 points (5G / 19A) in 21 games. He will slide right into the lineup tonight vs. Toronto.
Spooner had an assist in each of the two games after being recalled last week. He returns to Providence where he has two goals and five assists in eight games.
Spooner has two goals and five assists in eight games with Providence. He could be in the lineup tonight with the Bruins third line unable to generate any offence lately.
“I feel like a team like Boston, they like to use their speed a lot, their backcheck and their forecheck,” Spooner said. “I think that’s one of my strengths is my speed, so I think if I’m smart about it, I could fit in here.”
Spooner did not record a point in the three games he played. He will return to the Providence Bruins where he leads the team with 45 points in 50 games.
With David Krejci not skating this morning it appears as if he will not play. The Bruins called Spooner up yesterday, and it looks like he will slide into Krejci's spot in the middle of Lucic and Horton. This is a great opportunity for Spooner to show that he belongs in the NHL. He had 12 goals and 33 assists in 50 games in the AHL this season.
Spooner has been called up because David Krejci was injured on yesterday and his status for tomorrow's game is unknown. The 21-year-old is enjoying a strong season in the AHL having recorded 45 points in 50 games. His fantasy value goes hand-in-hand with how serious Krejci's injury is. If nothing else it gives the Bruins a chance to see what they have in Spooner.
