Harrington played just 7:48 on Monday and the Maple Leafs needed to make room to recall Garret Sparks, who will replace James Reimer. With Harrington out, Martin Marincin is expected to return to the lineup.

Harrington has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury but he will replace Martin Marincin in the lineup tonight vs. Detroit. Harrington has one assists and a minus-1 rating in seven games with the Maple Leafs.

Harrington was originally sent down because he was waiver exempt and helped the Leafs get down to 23 players. After Richard Panik cleared waivers, they were able to send him down and bring Harrington back up. The 22-year-old was part of the Phil Kessel trade this summer and is expected to make his Maple Leafs’ debut tonight vs. Montreal. He had two goals and 10 assists (12 points) in 48 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) last year and was held pointless in 10 games with the Penguins.

Harrington, 22, did not record a point in 10 games with the Penguins this season. While in the minors he had 12 points (2G / 10A) in 48 games with WBS. Harrington or Brian Dumoulin are expected to play in game 1 with Derrick Pouliot banged up.

Harrington has been a healthy scratch in the last four games and has been reassigned to WBS. Harrington has played in 10 NHL games with Pittsburgh this season, averaging 15:48 minutes.

Harrington appeared in three of the Penguins final four games before the All Star break. Overall he has no points and a minus-9 rating in nine games with Pittsburgh this season. Look for him to be paired with Rob Scuderi tonight vs. the Jets.

Harrington, 21, has played in six NHL games with Pittsburgh this season, including his NHL debut December 18 against Colorado. Harrington has appeared in 23 AHL games with WBS, collecting six assists and posting a plus-4.

Harrington, 21, was the 54th overall pick in 2011. The former London Knights’ defenseman has five assists in 21 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this season. Tonight he will replace Brian Dumoulin on the Penguins blue line; he is expected to be paired with Christian Ehrhoff.

Harrington, 21, has never played in an NHL game. The 2011 second round pick (54th overall) has recorded five assists in 21 games with WBS this season.

Harrington did not get into a game during his recall. He head back to the AHL where he has two assists in seven games with WBS this season. He will be in the lineup as the WBS Penguins will look to win their third game of the weekend today when they host the Syracuse Crunch.

Harrington, 21, has been recalled a number of time this season, but has yet to make his NHL debut. That could change soon, because he should stick with the team for awhile with Olli Maatta out for one month after surgery to remove a tumour. He will likely be the seventh defenseman to start out, but he should work his way into the lineup. He has two assists in seven games with WBS.

Harrington played in 76 AHL regular-season games as a rookie last season for WBS, tying for second among team blueliners with 24 points (5G / 19A) while helping his team allow the fewest goals in the AHL.
