Makar made his NHL debut earlier this season, playing 6:07 time-on-ice, but has primarily been in the AHL. The 24-year-old forward has four points (1G / 3A) in 13 games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL).

Taylor Makar is expected to be a healthy scratch vs. Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
Makar made his NHL debut last week, playing 6:07 time-on-ice, but will exit the lineup on Tuesday as a healthy scratch. Tristen Nielsen will draw into the lineup as Makar's replacement.

Colorado has signed Taylor Makar to a one-year, entry-level contract starting in 2025-26.
Makar was a seventh-round pick, 220th overall, of the Avalanche in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The 24-year-old forward spent the previous four seasons playing collegiate hockey, including scoring 30 points (18G / 12A) in 2024-25 with the University of Maine (H-East).
