Vanek took a rest day today after getting hurt in Saturday's game. The scoring winger gutted through the pain and played in back-to-back games so he could be good enough to play tomorrow. Check back for a further update.
Vanek, easily Buffalo's most consistent player of late, took what was close to a knee-on-knee hit late in Friday's game against Toronto and appeared to struggle a couple of times in Pittsburgh too. We're going to have to wait until after practice to see if this is a "maintenance" day or if there's some issue.
Vanek left the ice briefly on Saturday but was able to return. Sounds like just a maintenance but stay tuned for a further update.
