Johnson left after his first shift in his second game back on Friday. Johnson had previously missed three games with an injury and now it looks like he could be back out of the lineup on Saturday. If Johnson can’t play, look for Mike Angelidis to bin the lineup.
On Tuesday, Johnson centred the Lightning’s second line with Nikita Kucherov and Vladislav Namestnikov on his wings. After the practice session he said he is feeling good and optimistic that he will play on Wednesday. Monitor his status during the morning skate, but it looks like he will return after missing the last three games.
Johnson will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury. Johnson remains day-to-day and his next chance to return to the Lightning lineup is Saturday vs. the Anaheim Ducks.
Johnson was hit high and hard by Panthers’ forward Dave Bolland on Saturday. He has been ruled out of tonight’s game, but the Lightning say it is not concussion related and he is not expected to miss an extended period of time. With Johnson out, Jonathan Marchessault will play.
Johnson has been banged up and missed Monday’s practice, but was back on the ice this morning. Johnson should be good to go when the Lightning open the season on Thursday. He will look to build off of a fantastic 2014-15 season.

Johnson skated in the morning with a no-contact jersey and coach Jon Cooper said he thinks Johnson would be back before the All Star break. He never formally ruled him out, but all signs pointed towards him not playing. To no one’s surprise, Johnson recorded two assists, giving him four goals and seven assists (11 points) in his last seven games.
