Sobotka will miss 4-to-6 weeks with a lower-body injury.

Sobotka was hurt in the first game in Sweden after taking a low hit from Nikita Kucherov. The veteran winger will be out until at least mid-December and Curtis Lazar has been called up from Rochester (AHL) to take his spot on the roster.

Sobotka is leaving the NHL after signing a three-year deal worth $12 million with Avangard Omsk of the KHL.

Blues GM Doug Armstrong said today that they had offered Sobotka deals between one and five years at north of $3 million per season. Sobotka heads to the KHL for more money, but he is able opt out of his contract after any given season with the Blues retaining his rights should he decide to return to the NHL.

Sobotka (lower-body) is back in the Blues lineup Thursday.

Sobotka has missed the last 12 games with a lower-body injury that is believed to have been related to his knee. He will be back tonight vs. the Oilers and centre the second line with Vlad Tarasenko and TJ Oshie on his wings. His 25 points (7G/11A) ranks 11th on the Blues and his plus-17 is good for fifth on the squad.

Sobotka skated for the second straight day on Wednesday and is looking to be back in game action tomorrow vs. Edmonton. Sobotka has missed the last 12 games with a lower-body injury he suffered in late January. He has seven goals and 18 assists (25 points) with a plus-17 rating in 46 games this season.

Sobotka has not played since January 31 and will miss his 12th straight game tonight. Today's practice marks the first time he has skated with the team since getting hurt, so this is a strong step in the right direction for Sobotka. Consider him day-to-day.

Sobotka has missed the last seven games with a lower-body injury. Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock says he hopes that Sobotka will only miss four or five more games. Expect him back next week, likely Tuesday vs. Dallas or Thursday against the Oilers.

Sobotka missed the last five games with an upper-body injury that he suffered on December 14 vs. Columbus. This is positive news for the Blues, but they found out today that leading scorer Alex Steen is out indefinitely. Sobotka will skate with Patrik Berglund and Vladimir Tarasenko.
