Will Borgen News
Borgen (lower body) is expected to lay on Saturday in Montreal.

Borgen was a game-time decision in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but took to the ice, playing a season-low 16:22 time-on-ice. His lower-body injury continues to linger but he will likely stay in the lineup on Sunday against the Montreal Canadiens.

The Rangers acquired Borgen from the Kraken on Wednesday along with a 2025 third-round draft pick and a 2025 sixth-round draft pick in exchange for Kaapo Kakko. Borgen has just one goal and one assist in 33 games this season with the Kraken but is expected to be able to provide a lot of valuable minutes on a thin Rangers blue-line.

Borgen had reportedly been a trade target for the Rangers for quite some time but they had to pay a steep price to acquire his services, parting ways with the former second-overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Kakko.
