Whitecloud will be a healthy scratch for the first time in the playoffs for Game 5 on Wednesday as he is replaced by Ben Hutton in Vegas' lineup. The 27-year-old has averaged 15:51 TOI/GP in the playoffs thus far, but has yet to pick up a point alongside his two shots on goal.

Whitecloud was hurt after receiving a hit from Colorado's Kurtis MacDermid in Vegas' preseason game vs. the Avalanche and is considered week-to-week after undergoing successful surgery on an area on the upper body. The 26-year-old was expected to be a big part of Vegas' defensive unit this season after collecting five goals, seven assists, 41 PIMs, and a +10 plus/minus through 59 games in 2022-23.

Whitecloud left the Golden Knights' previous contest after just 14:57 TOI due to a lower-body injury and will not play Tuesday vs. Seattle. The 26-year-old is considered day-to-day for the time being and has five goals, seven assists, 64 SOG, 41 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus through 59 games played prior to the injury.

Whitecloud has not played since Dec. 11th due to a lower-body injury but will be a game-time decision Tuesday as Vegas takes on Nashville. Prior to his injury, the 26-year-old had one goal, five assists, 26 SOG and 23 PIMs through 30 games played.

Whitecloud missed three games while in COVID-19 protocol but is expected to play Saturday afternoon vs. the Blackhawks. Whitecloud and Alec Martinez will both be back in, providing a massive boost to the Golden Knights' bllueline on Saturday.
