Stalock starts for the Sharks.

Stalock allowed one goal on three shots in a relief effort on Thursday. He will get the call tonight in the second game of a back-to-back and will face the Hurricanes. When called upon this season, Stalock has been rock solid, posting a 3-0-0 record and 1.55 GAA and .944 SV%. He faces a Carolina team who have won two straight while outscoring their opponents 9-3.

Mikael Granlund, who has missed five of the past six games and three in a row with a concussion, will remain on injured reserve and has essentially been shut down.

It sounds like Granlund must have had symptoms working out or after he got on the ice on his own Monday. "We’re going to keep him off right now," coach Mike Yeo said. "He skated the other day and we’re at the point now where lets just take some time off here and make sure we get this right. ... I just know that we’re not making progress, and so what we’re doing right now, we have to take a different approach."

Granlund has been hit hard recently - courtesy of Nazem Kadri, Marc Methot, and Connor Murphy. Hopefully the time to recover will allow Granlund to get his game back. Brodziak may get more opportunity because of the Granlund injury but you can find better options on the waiver wire.

Granlund (upper-body) is on the ice taking line rushes, expected to return tonight.

Granlund missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but should be back in the lineup tonight and skate with Nino Niederreiter and Jason Pominville. Granlund has two goals and 10 assists as he continues to progress his game in the NHL. The Finnish phenom has more value in keeper leagues, but is still relevant in deep one-year leagues.

Trouba (neck) has been off injured reserve and will play tonight vs. the Devils.

Trouba missed just over a month after straining his neck on October 18. The 19-year-old defenseman recorded a goal and an assist with a minus-3 rating in his first eight games. He has tremendous offensive upside evidenced by his 12 goals and 29 points in 37 games with the University of Michigan in 2012-13. He is expected to pair up with Grant Clitsome on the Jets blueline tonight and will likely skate close to 20 minutes every night. He is worth an add in deep leagues and is a good keeper league option.

Jacob Trouba
Jacob Trouba will be a game time decision Monday vs Devils.

Trouba has been out since mid October with a neck strain. The 2012 9th overall pick, recorded two points in the season opener, but failed to record a point in the other seven games he skated in. Trouba was averaging 21:16 TOI in his first eight games and is expected to see the same workload when he gets back up to speed. He has a lot of offensive upside and is worth waiver consideration, especially in keeper leagues.

McLellan confirms Stalock is starting.

Stalock allowed two goals on just 13 shots in an OT win over the Flames on Tuesday. With Antti Niemi playing on Thursday and skating this morning there is a good chance it will be Stalock tonight vs. the Oilers. Edmonton has not scored a goal in there last three home games, so Stalock should make for a great spot start.

Niemi skated in Edmonton this morning so looks like Stalock vs. Oilers. Nothing confirmed.

Trouba (neck) is progressing but coach Claude Noel thinks it could still be a week or so before he joins Jets' practices.

Trouba has been sidelined since October 18th after being stretchered off of the ice following a head-first collision with the boards. The neck sprain he suffered had him in a neck brace for a couple weeks, but he is almost fully recovered and ready to rejoin the Jets. Trouba was drafted ninth overall in 2012 and has a bright NHL future ahead of him, but at this point in his career he is only a fantasy consideration in deep keeper and dynasty leagues.

Stalock starts for the Sharks.

Stalock did not allow a goal in a relief effort on Thursday. Tonight will be his second start this season - in his first he allowed only two goals on 40 shots in a win over the Senators. Antti Niemi has started 16 of a possible 17 games and has allowed 18 goals in five straight losses so the Sharks will turn to Stalock vs. Calgary to give Niemi a breather. He should make for a solid spot start.

Sounds like Stalock may start tonight.

Stalock did not allow a goal in a relief effort on Thursday. Tonight would be his second start this season - in his first he allowed only two goals on 40 shots in a win over the Senators. Antti Niemi has started 16 of a possible 17 games and has allowed 18 goals in five straight losses. Tonight vs. Calgary would be a good time to give Stalock a start and Niemi a breather. We will get confirmation after the Sharks morning skate (on ice now).

Jacob Trouba (neck) steps on ice near end of morning skate.

Important to note that Trouba is just doing some light skating and passing puck around with strength coach Lee Stubbs. This is still a positive sign for Trouba, who was stretchered off of the ice on October 18. The rookie defenseman was enjoying a strong start to his NHL career posting a goal and an assist in eight games. Trouba was logging 21-plus minutes a night so his return to the Jets lineup would certainly help solidify their blueline.

The Detroit Red WIngs have reassigned G Petr Mrazek to Grand Rapids (AHL).

Mrzaek stopped all 14 shots on Saturday to post his first career NHL shutout. He has been sent down so that he can get some playing time, opposed to serving as Jimmy Howard's backup. Mrazek is 2-2-1 with a 3.14 GAA and .891 SV% with the Griffins.

Petr Mrazek will make his first start of the season for the Red Wings Saturday night in Edmonton.

Tonight will be Mrazek's third NHL start. He is 1-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and .922 SV% in his previous two starts. In five games with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) this season, the 21-year-old netminder is 2-2-1 with a 3.14 GAA and .891 SV%. Mrazaek showed promise in his 2012-13 starts, he could be worth a look as a spot start tonight in Edmonton.

Petr Mrazek
Mrazek could get his third career NHL start tomorrow.

The Red Wings do not want to use Jimmy Howard in both games of a back-to-back, so either Mrazek or Jonas Gustavsson will get the nod. Mrazek was recalled today to serve as Howard's back-up because Gustavsson has a sore neck. If 'The Monster' isn't ready to go tomorrow, then Mrazek will start vs. the Oilers. He is 1-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and .922 SV% in two starts with the Red Wings.

Killorn has been moved to the top-line with Steven Stamkos and Martin St. Louis.

Killorn, 24, had a strong start to the season but has really cooled off as of late. Moving him onto a line with the red-hot Stamkos could get jumpstart Killorn. Whoever plays the LW on this line becomes a solid fantasy commodity. Ryan Malone had seven points in 12 games in that position.
