James Reimer will start Thursday vs. Montreal.

Reimer has served as the backup to Ville Husso in the Red Wings' last two games but will return to the crease on Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens. In four starts this season (2-2-0), Reimer has only one sub-.900 SV% outing and has been reliable between the pipes, registering a 1.52 GAA and .944 SV% along with one shutout. The Red Wings have followed up an early-season five-game winning streak by losing five of their last seven (2-4-1) but look poised for a strong performance against a Canadiens team amid a four-game losing streak (0-3-1).

John Gibson will start Tuesday vs. Pittsburgh.

Gibson returned from an upper-body injury on Sunday and saved 30 of 32 shots en route to defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2, their first regulation loss of the season. The Ducks were mostly rotating starts between Gibson and Lukas Dostal but will reward Gibson with his first consecutive start of the season after his mighty performance on Sunday. The Ducks are +170 home underdogs against a Pittsburgh Penguins team that has lost five of their last seven games (2-5-0). On October 30th, Gibson saved six of seven shots against the Penguins before exiting the game with an injury, a game that the Ducks ultimately won 4-3.

Robby Fabbri (lower body) has officially been activated from the injured reserve and will play Tuesday.

The Red Wings received positive news on Tuesday as Robby Fabbri was activated from the injured reserve and will make his return to the Red Wings lineup on Tuesday against the New York Rangers. Fabbri, who has dealt with injuries his entire career, was injured in the Red Wings' first game of the season but still managed to score one point (1G / 0A) in 14:44 time-on-ice. He will likely skate on the third line alongside Joe Veleno and Daniel Sprong.

Tristan Luneau has been assigned to San Diego (AHL) on a conditioning loan.

Luneau has been assigned to the San Diego Gulls of the AHL for a conditioning stint after being a healthy scratch for the last six games. The 53rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft is playing his first professional season and has zero points through two games while averaging 15:29 time-on-ice with the Ducks.

Tristan Luneau
Alex Stalock will draw into the Ducks' lineup and backup Lukas Dostal on Wednesday.

With John Gibson out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury, Stalock finds himself in the Ducks' lineup and should serve as the backup to Dostal until Gibson is ready to return after being recalled from San Diego (AHL). In three games (1-2-0) with the San Diego Gulls, Stalock has a 2.74 GAA and .919 SV%.

Alex Stalock
John Gibson (upper body) is considered out indefinitely and will miss Wednesday vs. Arizona.

Gibson was injured against the Pittsburgh Penguins after making a heroic save on Sidney Crosby late in the first period and will be out indefinitely. Gibson has a 2.82 GAA and .902 SV% in five games (1-3-0) and has been alternating starts with Lukas Dostal, who should see the majority of action while Gibson is sidelined.

John Gibson
Lukas Dostal will start Wednesday vs. Arizona.

Dostal, who was already seeing a fair share of action, alternating starts with John Gibson, should see a heavy workload moving forward as Gibson is out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury. In five games this season (4-1-0), Dostal has been impressive, posting a 2.79 GAA and .921 SV%. The Ducks, who are off to a surprising 5-4-0 start are +116 home underdogs against an Arizona Coyotes team coming off an 8-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Lukas Dostal
James Reimer will start Thursday vs. Florida.

Reimer has been terrific in limited action this season, posting a 1.68 GAA and .939 SV% in three games (2-1-0) and will get the nod in between the pipes on Thursday against the Florida Panthers. Reimer has never finished a season with a sub-2.31 GAA so this is unfamiliar territory for the veteran netminder and is likely unsustainable going forward. The Red Wings are +106 home underdogs against a Panthers team that is 4-3-1 to start the season.

James Reimer
Gibson will start in Pittsburgh on Monday.

Gibson will start for the Ducks on Monday as Greg Cronin and the coaching staff seem intent on continuing their even rotation between him and Lukas Dostal. Thus far, Dostal has outperformed Gibson but even so, Gibson has put together a respectable 2.81 GAA and .905 SV% through four games (1-3-0), both better totals than he has amassed in the past five seasons. Gibson and the Ducks will try to hold things together defensively as +211 road underdogs against a Pittsburgh Penguins team that is 3-5-0 this season.

Carlsson is back in the lineup for Thursday's game in Boston.

Carlsson returns to the Ducks lineup on Thursday after sitting out the last two games as the team attempts to ease his workload early in the season. The has a goal, six SOG, two PIMs, and a +2 plus/minus in two games thus far in 2023-24 while playing over 20 minutes a night.

Leo Carlsson
Gibson will start in Boston on Thursday.

Gibson returns to the Ducks' crease for Thursday's game against the Bruins after Lukas Dostal got the nod in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory over the Blue Jackets. Gibson has performed admirably to open the campaign with a .907 SV% and a 2.72 GAA through his first three starts, but a lack of goal support still leaves him searching for his first win of the season. Things won't get any easier for Gibson tonight with the Ducks being a +250 road underdog in Boston.

John Gibson
James Reimer will start Thursday vs. Winnipeg.

Reimer, who has a sparking 1.00 GAA and .963 SV% in two games (2-0-0), will return to the crease for the Red Wings on Thursday and hope to build on his terrific start to the season. This will mark Reimer's second start in the Red Wings' last three games. Albeit a very small sample size, Reimer has outperformed starting goaltender Ville Husso and could be in line for more starts if he can continue shutting the door for the Red Wings. The Red Wings will look to rebound after losing for the first time in six games (5-0-1) against a Winnipeg Jets team that is 3-3-0 to start the season.

James Reimer
Dostal will start in Columbus on Tuesday.

Dostal will get the nod on Tuesday after impressing in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Coyotes. Dostal stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced in the losing effort, giving himself an impressive .919 SV% and 2.55 GAA in two starts so far this season. The Ducks will need another strong performance from Dostal tonight if they're going to pick up a road victory over a Blue Jackets team that comes in having won two straight.
