Galchenyuk (hand) has not been cleared to play on Wednesday, but all signs point towards him returning.

Galchenyuk last played on January 6, he has missed the last 15 games with a broken right hand. At Canadiens practice this afternoon he skated on the third line with Lars Eller and Rene Bourque. Monitor his status following the Habs morning skate on Wednesday, but it appears as if he will be in the lineup vs. the Red Wings.

Kassian will be a healthy scratch today.

Kassian took a bad penalty that led to a Rangers power-play goal in yesterday's 5-2 loss. He has just one goal and a minus-5 rating in his last eight games, obviously coach Tortorella wants to see more discipline and production out of this edgy forward. Zac Dalpe will dress in his place.

The Canucks flew off to Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon without forward Zack Kassian.

Kassian, who re-injured a sore back in a fight with the Blues’ Chris Stewart early in Tuesday’s 3-2 win. The Canucks had an extra forward (Andrew Ebbett) for Tuesday’s game, but with Kassian out and if Sestito can’t play the team would need to recall a forward from the Chicago Wolves farm club.

#Canucks forward Zack Kassian is back from back injury tonight against #Blues

Kassian will return to the Canucks lineup after missing their last two games because of a back injury. After a hot start to the season when he was playing with the Sedins, Kassian has struggled to get on the stat sheet lately. He has five goals and three assists in 26 games this season.

The Montreal Canadiens are giving rookies Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher a chance to prove themselves in the NHL.

Galchenyuk has tons of skill and upside. Playing on the Habs second line with veterans Gionta and Plekanec is going to help his development. The sky is the limit for him. If you're in a keeper league, Galchenyuk is a great option.
