Little has missed three games with a foot problem after getting hit with a shot on Dec. 17, and he did not make the trip to Colorado to face the Avalanche.

Sounds like Little will miss a significant chunk of playing time. After posting at least a point in 12 of 12 games, the former 12th overall pick was held scoreless over his last two. He was injured four games ago and had not played since.

Zack Kassian, Buffalo's first-round pick in the 2009 draft, has been summoned from Rochester to play for the injury-plagued Sabres, according to the Twitter accounts of Kassian's friends and teammates.

Kassian is one of the team's top forward prospects. Prior to the callup he scored seven goals and 14 points in his first 18 AHL games.

The Winnipeg Jets centre is as surprised as most that he’s now gone 14 games to start the NHL season without scoring a goal and has only three assists to date.

Little continues to center the top line, playing over 20 minutes per game. Look for the sniper to regain his scoring touch sooner or later.

Andrew Ladd is looking a little worse for wear after taking an errant puck to the nose on Thursday, but the Winnipeg Jets captain will be in the lineup as they face the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night at MTS Centre.

Ladd will play tonight but likely is less than 100 percent. After getting hit with a shot to-the-face, Ladd will wear a visor tonight.

Last year I had a pretty good year even though I didn’t come close to getting 30 again. I just felt I was more consistent and more mature and better in my own end. I was more well-rounded but I still want to contribute more offensively and this year is hopefully going to be better for me.

Little's 30-goal season of a few seasons ago is a distant memory as we forget the kid can simply score goals. A change of scenery and system could be enough for the 22-year-old to regain his scoring touch while centering the top line.
