Jokiharju appeared in five of the last six games before the All-Star break after returning home from the World Juniors. He had just one assist during that stretch and the addition of Slater Koekkoek allows Jokiharju to go to the minors.
Jokiharju was a healthy scratch against the Capitals on Sunday but will replace Carl Dahlstrom on Tuesday. Jokiharju has just one assist, a minus-3 rating and two shots on goal in four games since returning from the World Juniors.
Korpisalo allowed one goal on 30 shot in the Blue Jackets win over the Devils on Tuesday. Korpisalo has been playing great lately, stopping 93 of the last 98 shots (.949 SV%) that he faced. Additionally, Korpisalo comes in at 4-1-1 with a 3.20 GAA and .893 SV% on home-ice this season.
Korpisalo stopped 32 of 33 shots in the Blue Jackets win in Washington on Saturday. Sergei Bobrovsky returned to the crease on Sunday but allowed five goals, so Korpisalo will start for the third time in four games. He has won his last three starts, stopping 83 of the 90 shots (.922 SV%) that he faced.
Zadorov has been out since December 19th, missing a total of 10 games. There is no word who Zadorov will replace but expect it to be Mark Barberio or Ryan Graves. Zadorov has three goals and two assists in 34 games this season.
Korpisalo stopped all three shots that he faced after replacing Sergei Bobrovsky in Tampa Bay on Tuesday. With Bobrovsky “away from the team” on Thursday, Korpisalo will start vs. the Predators. The 24-year-old netminde has gone 2-1-1 with a 3.67 GAA and .872 SV% in five starts and two relief appearances on home-ice.
Jokiharju is fresh off of a gold medal with Finland at the World Juniors, where he registered two goals and three assists (five points) in seven games. Jokiharju has 11 assists in 32 games with the Blackhawks this season.
McAvoy was banged up before the Christmas break, missed Thursday’s game vs. New Jersey and was moved to IR on Friday. His move to IR simply means that he won’t play on Saturday but is eligible to play in the Winter Classic.
Arvidsson is expected to play Thursday after missing 22 games with a broken thumb he suffered on November 10th. Arvidsson has 13 points (8G / 5A) in 13 games this season.
Arvidsson has been out since November 10th with a broken thumb but is expected to play vs. the Stars. Arvidsson was playing very well before getting hurt, registering eight goals on 34 shots (23.5 SH%) with five assists (13 points) in 13 games. He will skate with Ryan Johansen and Calle Jarnkrok on the top line.
McAvoy is hurting after blocking a shot in Carolina on Sunday, so he’ll come out of the lineup on Thursday. Luckily for the Bruins, they will get both Zdeno Chara and Kevan Miller back on the blueline to replace McAvoy.
Korpisalo gave up three goals on 25 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Canucks on December 11th. Korpisalo has not recorded a win since November 15th but will get a second crack at the Rangers tonight. The 24-year-old allowed four goals on 19 shots in a 5-4 shootout loss to New York back in November.
Zadorov will miss both games of Colorado’s back-to-back on Friday/Saturday. Mark Alt could dress in Zadorov’s absence against the Blackhawks.
Jokiharju has had an impressive rookie season, picking up 11 assists while averaging 19:59 TOI/gm in 32 games. Jokiharju had two goals and two assists (four points) in five games at the World Juniors last season.
