Bishop will start Sunday in New York.

Bishop allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Lightning’s win in Montreal on Thursday. Andrei Vasilevskiy started last night, so Bishop will go tonight in New York. It has been an inauspicious start to the season for Bishop, who carries a 3.22 GAA and .891 SV% into tonight’s meeting with the Rangers. The Rangers are 5-3-0 and lead the NHL in scoring, with 3.63 goals per game.

Reimer allowed three goals on 22 shots in the Panthers loss in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Reimer has lost his first two starts with the Panthers, while allowing a combined six goals on 50 shots (.880 SV%). The Panthers are struggling right now, which isn’t surprising given all of their injuries. Tonight he faces a Red Wings team that has won six of their last seven, but who were shutout last night.

Bishop surrendered four goals on 16 shots in the Lightning’s loss to the Avalanche last Thursday. Andrei Vasilevskiy started on Saturday, so they’ll go back to Bishop tonight in Toronto. The mammoth of a netminder has struggled in the early-going, allowing a combined 11 goals on 79 shots (.861 SV%). Things won’t get any easier tonight against a Maple Leafs team that ranks fourth in the NHL with 3.60 goals per game.

Ben Bishop
Reimer will start Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Reimer allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Panthers’ loss in Tampa Bay last Tuesday. Roberto Luongo started four of the first five games, but Reimer will go on Tuesday. Reimer will take on a Penguins team that is 3-2-1 while averaging 2.17 goals per game through their first six contests.

Reimer will make his Panthers debut on Tuesday.

Roberto Luongo started the first two games of the year, but Reimer will get his first start tonight in Tampa Bay. The 28-year-old had a great 2015-16 season with the Maple Leafs and Sharks, totalling a 17-14-7 record, 2.31 GAA and .922 SV%. With Luongo getting up there in age, Reimer is expected to see more starts than your average backup which makes him rosterable in deeper formats.

Bishop will start Tuesday against the Panthers.

Bishop surrendered four goals on 32 shots in the Lightning’s win over the Red Wings last Thursday. Andrei Vasilevskiy started the second game of the year, but they’ll go back to Bishop tonight vs. the Panthers. Bishop is in the starter's crease at the Lightning's morning skate.

Bishop surrendered four goals on 32 shots in the Lightning’s 6-4 win over the Red Wings on Thursday. Bishop wasn’t at his best on Thursday, but did enough to earn his first win of the season. One of the goals was a bizarre dump-in that took a weird bounce off of the glass on-net and subsequently by Bishop. The Lightning netminder will have better nights and Saturday might be one of those nights with the Devils in town.

Bishop will start the Lightning's season opener vs. Detroit.

Bishop has been one of the safest fantasy netminders in the NHL over the last three years. Last season he won 35 games and his 112 wins over the last three seasons is tied with Braden Holtby for first in the NHL. Andrei Vasilevskiy will eat into his starts this year, but he will still start around 50 games, including tonight’s game vs. the Red Wings. Bishop has enjoyed a tonne of success vs. Detroit, especially in the playoffs, making him a solid start tonight.

The Panthers have signed James Reimer to a five-year deal worth $17 million ($3.4M AAV).

Reimer, 28, split last season with the Maple Leafs and Sharks after being dealt at the Trade Deadline. He combined for a 17-14-7 record with a 2.31 GAA and .922 SV%. He has a career .914 SV% in 196 starts and signs with the Panthers as insurance for 37-year-old Roberto Luongo. Bobby Lu will likely start the majority of games, but Reimer should start more than your average backup with the upside for a straight platoon if he plays well.

The Wild re-signed Jason Zucker to a two-year deal worth $4 million ($2.0M AAV).

After scoring 21 goals in just 51 games in 2014-15, the Wild were hoping for big things out of Zucker last season, but he never seemed to gain any traction. The 24-year-old winger struggled with just 13 goals and 10 assists (23 points) in 71 games, but the Wild we able to secure him for two more years at a very reasonable cap-hit.
