Ukko-Pekka Luukonen has been loaned to Rochester (AHL).

Luukonen has a 9-3-1 record, 3.49 GAA and .894 SV% this season but will surprisingly be loaned back to Rochester (AHL) as Eric Comrie returns from a lower-body injury. The 23-year-old is expected to return to the club this season so this is just a temporary move.

Felix Sandstrom has been assigned to Lehigh Valley (AHL) for a conditioning stunt.

Sandstrom has a 1-6-1 record, 3.37 GAA and .888 SV% and will head to Lehigh Valley (AHL) for a conditioning stint for the first time this season. The 25-year-old rookie netminder was the odd man out as Philadelphia decided to keep Samuel Ersson on the active roster.

Luukkonen stopped 37 of 40 shots (.925 SV%) for his fourth straight win as he picked up a surprising victory over Boston in his last start. The 23-year-old has taken over Buffalo's starting crease due to his 7-3-1 record, 3.35 GAA and .896 SV%. He will take on the Washington Capitals, who have won six of their last seven games after a 9-2 thumping of Montreal in their previous game.

The 23-year-old has been much better as of late for the Sabres and holds a 5-3-1 record, 3.44 GAA and .891 SV% through nine appearances. He faces the Detroit Red Wings who are on the back end of a back-to-back after a massive 5-4 comeback victory over Pittsburgh yesterday.

Owen Power will be back in the lineup Thursday vs. Detroit (lower body).

Power has missed the Sabres previous three games due to a lower-body injury and will return Thursday vs. the Red Wings. The rookie defender has had a strong opening season, with 10 assists, 42 SOG, 16 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus in 29 games played prior to the injury.

Reimer stopped 24 of 26 shots (.923 SV%) to snap a two-game losing streak as he beat Minnesota in his last game. The 34-year-old has had an up-and-down season with his 7-9-3 record, 2.99 GAA and .904 SV%. He will face the Vancouver Canucks, who have won their last two games and are eighth in the NHL in goals per game (3.39).
