Buffalo Sabres News
Luukkonen is in the starter's net at Buffalo's morning skate.

The Sabres will turn to Luukkonen for the sixth time in the last seven games after giving him the night off in their last outing, a 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Luukkonen has been tremendous lately, winning four of his last five (4-1-0), including saving 32 of 34 shots (.941 SV%) in his last outing, a 6-2 win over the Seattle Kraken. The Sabres enter action as +190 road underdogs against the high-scoring Edmonton Oilers.

Reimer will start on Thursday vs. the Islanders.

The Red Wings will turn to Reimer for the third time in the last four games on Thursday against the New York Islanders. Reimer has been solid lately, winning two straight, including a 4-3 overtime victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday when he saved 32 of 35 shots (.914 SV%). The Red Wings, with Alex Lyon between the pipes, lost 5-3 to the Islanders on February 29th.

Levi will start in Vancouver on Tuesday.

The Sabres will turn to Levi for the tail-end of their back-to-back after Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen got the call for Monday's game in Seattle. It will be Levi's first NHL game since January 24th, a game in which he allowed just three goals on 40 shots in a 5-3 victory over the Kings. The Sabres opted to send Levi down to Rochester (AHL) shortly thereafter in order to assure him more playing time as Luukkonen ran away with the starting job. Levi will be hoping to stake a claim for more playing time after amassing an 11-5-3 record to go along with a .927 SV% across 19 AHL appearances.

Devon Levi
Reimer will start on Tuesday vs. Columbus.

Unsurprisingly, the Red Wings will turn Reimer on Tuesday, partly resulting from Alex Lyon's abysmal netminding lately. Reimer is responsible for the Red Wings' only victory in March, a 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday when he saved 25 of 26 shots (.962 SV%). The struggling Red Wings enter action as -164 home underdogs against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Reimer will start on Saturday vs. Buffalo.

The reeling Red Wings, losers of seven straight, will turn to Reimer between the pipes on Saturday afternoon against the Buffalo Sabres. Alex Lyon has struggled immensely lately, so a strong outing for Reimer could generate more opportunities for him down the stretch. The 36-year-old Reimer has played well lately, posting a 3-1-0 record and .930 SV% since the start of the new year.

Luukkonen will start against the Islanders on Thursday.

The Sabres have won two straight and will return to Luukkonen between the pipes on Thursday night. Luukkonen has allowed three or fewer goals in 10 straight (7-2-1), posting a tremendous .924 SV%. The playoffs remain a longshot for the Sabres but the 25-year-old Luukkonen has been a bright spot on an otherwise disappointing season, keeping them within reaching distance of a Wild Card spot. The Sabres enter action as slight -102 home underdogs against the New York Islanders.
