Mantha broke his had in a fight with Patrik Nemeth on Sunday and will miss at least one month. With Mantha out, Gustav Nyquist will move to the top-line on Tuesday and Luke Witkowski will dress as a seventh defenseman.

Mantha will miss Tuesday’s game against the Lightning with an undisclosed injury but GM Ken Holland said the winger could possibly be out long-term. Mantha will be re-evaluated later in the day and the Red Wings should provide more details on the nature of the injury. With Mantha out, rookie Michael Rasmussen could take on an expanded role but this injury is devastating for a Red Wings team that was playing better than most people expected.

Bean did not record a point while averaging just 8:27 TOI/gm in two games during his call-up. He returns to Charlotte, where he has 11 points (3G / 8A) in 21 games this season.

Barrie will sit once again on Friday, with Mark Alt replacing Barrie’s original replacement Mark Barberio. Barrie remains day-to-day.

Bishop has split his time between the NHL and AHL this season. Bishop has no points in seven games with the Hurricanes but has five points (3G / 2A) in 12 games with the Checkers. Bishop would play Friday if Micheal Ferland (undisclosed) is unavailable.


Barrie will sit out for a second straight game with an undisclosed injury. With Barrie out last night, Erik Johnson led all defensemen with 22:05 TOI and Samuel Girard was on the top power-play, seeing 2:24 PP TOI.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar announced that Barrie will not be available tonight but did not indicate what is ailing the offensive-defenseman. Consider Barrie as day-to-day until the Avalanche provides a more detailed update. Mark Barberio will replace him in the lineup.

Bean was selected No.13 overall back in 2016 and will make his debut on the third pair with Trevor van Riemsdyk. Bean, who is in his first AHL season after spending four years in the WHL, has collected 11 points (3G / 8A) in 21 games with the Checkers. Bean brings some more offence to an already talented blue line in Carolina and carries some interesting punt value in daily formats.


Coleman is questionable after playing on Sunday, so head coach John Hynes listed him as a game-time decision in Florida. With Marcus Johansson out with a lower-body injury, Blake Coleman could be elevated to the second line.

Frk was a healthy scratch for the last two games but will replace Christoffer Ehn vs. the Blue Jackets. Frk is mostly a power-play specialist and has just one goal and one assist in 12 games this season.

Hanley has been in the lineup for seven straight games, but will be replaced by Julius Honka on Saturday. Hanley has no points this season.


Lomberg, who had one assist in seven games with the Flames last season, will replace Michael Frolik on the roster. The 23-year-old has six points (2G / 4A) in 18 games with Stockton this season.
