Petr Mrazek will start Thursday vs. Tampa Bay.

Mrazek has started three of the last five contests for the Blackhawks and is set to start again on Thursday when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. Considering the Blackhawks' 4-7-0 record and 24th-ranked team defence (3.45 GA / GP), Mrazek has been tremendous, boasting a 2.81 GAA and .923 SV% through seven appearances (3-3-0). Despite his stellar play, the Blackhawks are sizeable +202 road underdogs against a Lightning team that has scored at least five goals in each of their last three games (2-0-1).

Laurent Brossoit will start Thursday vs. Nashville.

Brossoit will tend the twine on Thursday, marking his first action since October 28th. As expected, Connor Hellebuyck has been a workhorse between the pipes for the Jets, limiting Brossoit to only two games thus far. In those two games (0-1-1), Brossoit has a much-to-be-desired 3.38 GAA and .873 SV%. The Jets are -129 home favourites against a Nashville Predators team coming off a 4-2 loss against the Calgary Flames, in which they gave up four unanswered goals.

Alec Martinez (undisclosed) is expected to return to the Golden Knights lineup Wednesday vs. Los Angeles.

Martinez missed the Golden Knights' previous game due to an undisclosed injury but is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday vs. Los Angeles after practicing Tuesday. The 36-year-old is in his 15th NHL season and has a goal, an assist, seven SOG and a +1 plus/minus in eight games played this season. He should return to the Golden Knights' second defensive pair.

Alec Martinez
Soderblom will start Sunday vs. the Devils.

Soderblom was pulled after allowing seven goals on 22 shots in the Blackhawks blowout loss in Arizona on Tuesday. After a strong start to the season, where he stopped 65 of 68 shots in his first two starts, Soderblom has been torched for 12 goals on 46 shots (.739 SV%) in his last two starts. Tonight he'll face a Devils team that will be without Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, but Soderblom and the Blackhawks are still +179 underdogs.

Arvid Soderblom
Hall (shoulder) will return to the Blackhawks lineup on Saturday.

Hall missed the Blackhawks' previous three-games due to a shoulder injury and was originally touted as week-to-week but will surprisingly return Saturday vs. Florida. The 31-year-old left-winger has twice missed time due to his injured shoulder so far leading to him missing five total games this season but has two assists, seven SOG, two PIMs and a -1 plus/minus in five games played.

Taylor Hall
Mrazek will start Saturday vs. the Panthers.

Mrazek's last appearance came in a relief effort vs. Arizona where he stopped 10 of 11 shots (.909 SV%) as he was on damage control but will be the starter Saturday vs. Florida. The 31-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the season, with his 2-3-0 record, .917 SV% and 2.96 GAA. He should be busy Saturday, as he takes on the Florida Panthers, who despite being fourth in the NHL in shots per game (33.6) is 25th in goals per game (2.67).

Taylor Hall (shoulder) returned to practice Friday but is still without a return date.

Hall's return date is still uncertain but his presence at practice on Friday is a very encouraging sign for a Blackhawks team that has been outscored 23-8 in their last five games (1-4-0). Hall had two points (0G / 2A) in five games before being placed on the injured reserve on October 23rd.

Andreas Anthansiou will draw back into the Blackhawks' lineup on Monday vs. Arizona.

Athanasiou was a healthy scratch for the Blackhawks' previous game vs. Vegas but will draw back into the lineup for Boris Katchouk on Monday in Arizona. The 29-year-old has struggled out of the gate this season as he has no goals, three assists, 14 SOG, and a -2 plus/minus in seven games played.

Andreas Athanasiou
Arvid Soderblom will start Monday in Arizona.

Soderblom was shelled in his previous start vs Vegas after allowing five goals on 24 shots (.792 SV%) but will take the crease Monday in Arizona. The 24-year-old has been solid this season besides the last game, as he has a 1-2-0 record, .913 SV% and 2.68 GAA. He heads to Arizona to take on the Coyotes on Monday, who are coming off back-to-back losses to Los Angeles and are 23rd in the NHL in goals per game (2.71).

Arvid Soderblom
Vlasic is in concussion protocol and will not play in Arizona on Monday.

Vlasic left the Blackhawks' game on Friday vs. Vegas after just 11 shifts and 9:53 TOI due to a concussion and will not play Monday against Arizona as he remains in protocol. The injury comes at a terrible time as the 22-year-old towering defensemen had been enjoying an incredibly strong start to the 2023-24 season with three assists, eight SOG, and a +4 plus/minus in eight games this year.

Alex Vlasic
Brossoit will start Saturday in Montreal.

Brossoit allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Jets' loss to the Golden Knights on October 19th. It was a rough season debut for Brossoit, who will give Connor Hellebuyck a night off on Saturday. Montreal is 21st in xGF/60 (3.02) and the Jets are -147 favourites, making Brossoit a decent spot-start option.

Sanford will make his Coyotes debut on Friday against the Kings.

Sanford is set to make his season debut on Friday after signing a one-year contract with Arizona in the summer. The 29-year-old winger played 16 games with the Predators last season, registering two goals and one assist. He is expected to start Friday's game on a line with Logan Cooley and Michael Carcone.

Zach Sanford
Andreas Athanasiou will be a healthy scratch on Friday vs. Vegas.

Athanasiou has struggled so far in 2023-24, with no goals, three assists, 14 SOG, and a -2 plus//minus through seven games, and will be a healthy scratch for the first time this year. MacKenzie Entwistle will replace him in the Blackhawks' lineup as the nine-year veteran takes a seat in the press box.

Andreas Athanasiou
Petr Mrazek will start Friday vs. Vegas.

Mrazek allowed three goals on 43 shots (.930 SV%) for his third straight loss in his previous start vs. Boston but will be rewarded with the start Friday vs. Vegas. The 31-year-old goaltender has played well despite most of his starts turning into losing efforts as he has a 1-3-0 record, .925 SV% and 3.03 GAA. He draws the near-impossible task of facing the undefeated Vegas Golden Knights, who have started 2023-24 with a 7-0-0 record and are fourth in the NHL in goals per game (3.86).
