Kurashev has not played yet this season and is coming off a 2022-23 campaign where he scored 25 points (9G / 16A) in 70 games. Petr Mrazek will start Tuesday vs. Boston.

Mrazek will be the starter for the Blackhawks on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins. Mrazek hasn't finished a season with a save percentage above .894 in two campaigns, but after three games (1-2-0) has a .924 SV% and has played well in each of them. That said, Mrazek and the Blackhawks will have their work cut out for them as they enter their matchup as +203 home underdogs against a Bruins team that has yet to lose (5-0-0).

Taylor Hall (shoulder) has been placed on the injured reserve.

Hall suffered a shoulder injury in game two of the season and was initially given a week-to-week prognosis and has been placed on the injured reserve Tuesday. To everyone's surprise, Hall missed only one game and returned to the lineup. Three games later, Hall seems to have reaggravated his shoulder injury and is once again going to be week-to-week because of it. Hall has played primarily with Connor Bedard this season and has two points (0G / 2A) and seven shots in five games. The Blackhawks might welcome Philipp Kurashev back into their lineup on Tuesday, which would help replace Hall on the roster.

Petr Mrazek will start Thursday vs. Colorado.

Mrazek is off to a great start for the Blackhawks, who have been better than expected defensively to start the season, allowing an average of only 2.25 goals per game in their first four contests (2-2-0). The Blackhawks have opted to split starts between their two netminders to start the season, but in Mrazek's two games (1-1-0), he has a 2.54 GAA and .935 SV%. Mrazek will be in for arguably his most difficult matchup as the Blackhawks are +303 road underdogs against the Colorado Avalanche. Last season, Mrazek was 1-1-0 against the Avalanche with a 3.50 GAA and .897 SV% and, despite his strong start to the season, does not have a favourable matchup Thursday evening.

Laurent Brossoit will start Thursday vs. Vegas.

The Jets have been completely inept at keeping the puck out of their net this season and have been outscored 14-10 in only three games (1-2-0). They hope to have their early season defensive struggles solved tonight as Brossoit will suit up against his former team for his first start of the 2023-24 campaign. Last season, as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights, Brossoit played exceptionally, recording a 2.17 GAA and .927 SV% in 11 games (7-0-3). Now on the other side, Brossoit and the Jets find themselves as +101 road underdogs against the Golden Knights.
