The Bruins sent Ryan Donato to Providence (AHL) on Thursday.

Donato was viewed as a young, breakout candidate in 2018-19, but has struggled early in the season. The former second-round pick had nine points in his first 12 games with the Bruins after leaving Harvard at the end of last season, but has picked up just one goal through 11 games this year. Donato will go to Providence to continue to develop and will likely return to Boston sometime in the near future.

Joey Anderson has been called up from Binghamton (AHL) and will make his NHL debut on Saturday.

Anderson was a third round pick of the Devils (No. 73 overall) in 2016 and turned pro this season after his sophomore season at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Anderson has collected five points (2G / 3A) in eight games with Binghamton this season and will make his NHL debut because Marcus Johansson is out with an illness. Anderson will skate on the fourth line with Kevin Rooney and Brian Boyle.
