Wagner has been reassigned to the Colorado Eagles (AHL) on Friday.

Wagner scored his first goal as a member of the Colorado Avalanche on Monday and earned himself a one-year contract extension the following day for the 2024-25 season. The 32-year-old veteran should compete for Colorado's fourth-line centre role next year but will hope to build off of his two points (1G/1A) in 10 games this season.

Nichuskin (lower body) will not return on Thursday but is a high possibility for Friday vs. Edmonton.

Nichuskin started skating in Denver this week and will attempt to return to the lineup on Friday against the Edmonton Oilers. The 29-year-old is having a sensational year despite missing part of the season due to personal reasons, with his 26 goals and 50 points in 48 games played.

Georgiev will start on Friday in Edmonton.

For the first time this season, the Avalanche started a goalie other than Georgiev for two straight contests but will return to him on Friday against the Edmonton Oilers. Georgiev has allowed four goals in two of his last three games (1-2-0), including four on 13 shots (.692 SV%) in his last outing before being replaced by Justus Annunen in an eventual 7-4 win over the Nashville Predators. The Avalanche enter action as +121 road underdogs against an Oilers club coming off a disappointing 5-0 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Annunen will start on Thursday vs. Minnesota.

Colorado has lost three of their last four and will turn to Annunen for the second straight game on Thursday against the Minnesota Wild. Annunen has allowed three or fewer goals in eight straight appearances (5-2-1), but struggled in his most recent outing, allowing three goals on 24 shots (.875 SV%) in a 4-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. That said, Colorado enters the action as a -164 road favourite.
