Oettinger led the Stars onto the ice for warmups.

Oettinger and the Stars will host the Winnipeg Jets Monday as Dallas looks to keep their 2-0-0 record intact. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a terrific start to 2022-23, averaging a GAA of 1.00 in each of his two wins while stopping 60 of 62 total shots faced. DeSmith will start Monday in Montreal.

DeSmith will likely get his first start of the season as the undefeated Penguins head to Montreal to take on the Canadiens on the road. The 31-year-old netminder enters his fifth season with Pittsburgh, backing up Jarry to a 2.79 GAA and .914 SV% in 2021-22. He will hope the Penguin's offence can continue to roll as it has posted six goals in both of their two wins to start the season.

Oettinger will start Saturday vs. the Predators.

Oettinger will take the crease for Dallas after a dominating 4-1 victory over Nashville in their opener Thursday. Oettinger was in midseason form stopping 31 of 32 shots on way to an impressive game-one victory. In his third NHL season, he is proving he is one of the elite goaltending talents.

Oettinger led the Stars onto the ice for warmups.

Oettinger as expected, should lead the Stars as they take on the undefeated Nashville Predators on the road after being the first goalie off the ice at Dallas' morning skate. Oettinger earned a new three-year, $12 million contract in the offseason after leading the Stars back to the playoffs after the 23-year-old posted 30 wins, and .914 SV% on the season. The three-year veteran will look to keep his career GAA around the impressive 2.59 GAA mark he has achieved in his first 77 games with Dallas.

The Stars have signed Jason Robertson to a four-year contract worth $31.0 million ($7.75M AAV).

Robertson has missed the entire preseason while the Stars worked out an extension for him but get him signed one week before their season opener in Nashville. Robertson is coming off a breakout year, scoring 41 goals with 38 assists (79 points) in 74 games. He was tied for 13th in goals and tied for 35th in points. With new head coach Pete DeBoer behind the bench, we'll see if he goes back to the Robertson, Roope Hintz and Joe Pavelski line that was so successful last season.

The Senators have claimed Magnus Hellberg off waivers from the Kraken.

With Cam Talbot out five-to-seven weeks, the Senators have claimed Hellberg to serve as their No.2 behind Anton Forsberg to open the season. Hellberg spent the last five seasons in the KHL before joining the Red Wings last April. Overall, he's 2-0-0 with a .869 SV% in five career NHL games with the Predators, Rangers, and Red Wings.

The Stars acquired Nils Lundkvist from the Rangers for a 2023 conditional first-round pick and a 2025 conditional fourth-round pick.

Lundkvist was selected No.28 overall in the 2018 NHL draft and registered four points (1G / 3A) in 25 NHL games with the Rangers last season. He spent most of the season in the AHL, posting 15 points (3G / 12A) in 34 games. Lundkvist will battle with Thomas Harley and Colin Miller for playing time in Dallas and could be a future D-partner of Miro Heiskanen.

The Jets have signed Kyle Capobianco to a two-year contract worth $1.525 million ($762.5K AAV).

Capobianco was a third-round pick in 2015 and appeared in 59 NHL games with the Coyotes over the last five years. Most of those appearances came in 2022 when he had nine points (2G / 7A) in 45 games. He'll probably be a reserve defenseman for the Jets as Dylan Samberg and Ville Heinola are poised to become full-time NHLers in the very near future.
