With Matt Dumba (upper body) being placed on Injured Reserve, Dallas has recalled Petrovic from Texas (AHL). The 32-year-old Petrovic played two games with Dallas this season but has predominantly been an AHL player, scoring 13 points (4G / 9A) in 21 games with the Texas Stars.

The Stars have won consecutive games and will roll with Oettinger between the pipes for a seventh straight contest. The 26-year-old Oettinger has been solid all season, posting a 2.32 GAA and .913 SV% in 23 games (16-7-0). He has saved 40 of 42 shots faced (.952 SV%) over his last two games (2-0-0). Dallas enters Wednesday's contest as -134 home favorites against a Toronto Maple Leafs club 3-3-0 in their previous six games.

Bichsel was the 18th overall pick of the Stars in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old defenseman is highly regarded in the Dallas system and has played the last two games since Matt Dumba has been out with an upper-body injury. Bichsel is averaging 14:55 time-on-ice, recording one point (0G / 1A) and eight hits in two games.

DeSmith (illness) missed practice on Friday.

It's unclear if DeSmith will be able to suit on Saturday but if he isn't, Dallas will have to recall a netminder from Texas (AHL) to serve as Oettinger's backup. DeSmith last played on December 2nd, saving 36 of 37 shots (.973 SV%) in a 2-1 win over the Utah Hockey Club.
