Goalie Start

Goalie Mike Smith made 27 games in Tuesday's game, his first after missing six games because of a lower-body injury. Smith, who has stopped 57 of 61 shots in two games LA this season, is expected to be back in goal tonight. For his career, Smith owns a 6-2-2 record and a 1.62 goals-against average vs the Kings.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will be out of the #Oilers line-up for the next 3-4 weeks with a left shoulder injury.

The Colorado Avalanche yesterday reassigned forward Brad Malone to the Lake Erie Monsters, ending his first stint with the club at nine games.

Malone has no fantasy hockey value while in the minors.

All concussions are different but it looks like there is an outside shot Skinner returns this month. The reigning Rookie of the Year has 12 goals and 24 points through 30 games.

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today the Coyotes have activated goaltender Mike Smith off injured reserve.

Starting to look like Smith will start. He's been sidelined since December 20th with a lower-body injury.

Just got off the phone with Carolina GM Jim Rutherford. Still no timeline for Jeff Skinner's return from concussion.

Skinner is a dynamic scorer with the potential to win a Rocket Richard Trophy over his NHL career. However, the Markham, Ontario native last played on December 7th and is clogging up most owner's IR slot.
