While Tippett gave that vague update, it seems like Curtis McElhinney was recalled to get some action. Sounds like Smith will at least miss another week. Prior to getting hurt, the Kingston, Ontario started 28 of 34 games.

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that forward Jeff Skinner has been diagnosed with a concussion and is out indefinitely.

Rough break for Skinner and the Canes. At this point, fantasy hockey owners can only hope he is placed on IR and try to ride out his absence.
