The Blue Jackets have re-signed Ryan Murray to a two-year deal worth $9.2M ($4.6M AAV).
The Senators have acquired Connor Brown, Nikita Zaitsev and Michael Carcone from the Maple Leafs for Cody Ceci, Ben Harpur, Aaron Luchuk and a 2020 third-round pick.
Brown has not missed a game in the last three seasons but his offensive production has dropped as he moved down the Maple Leafs depth chart. Brown was a prolific scorer in the OHL and moving to a team with a lot of young wingers will allow Brown to play an expended role and likely return to 20 goals for the first time since 2017.
The Maple Leafs have signed Kasperi Kapanen to a three-year, $9.6M ($3.2M AAV) contract extension.
During his first full season with the Maple Leafs, Kapanen registered 20 goals and 24 assists (44 points) in 78 games. The 22-year-old was quiet during the postseason but should be able to build off of strong start to his NHL career. However, Kapanen’s ceiling may be limited because he is destined to play third-line minutes on a deep Toronto roster.
With the No.10 Pick in the 2019 NHL Draft the Vancouver Canucks select Vasily Podkolzin.
The Ducks have bought out the contract of Corey Perry.
Perry had two years left on his eight-year, $69.0M ($8.625M AAV) deal that he signed in March of 2013. Perry was a great scorer for Anaheim after being picked No.28 overall in 2003 but his production has dropped off in the last two seasons. The 34-year-old had just 23 goals and 36 assists (59 points) in 102 games over the last two seasons. The buyout will cost the Ducks $2.625M against the Salary Cap in 2019-20.
The Buffalo Sabres have signed Jeff Skinner to an eight-year contract worth $72.0 million ($9.0M AAV).
Skinner was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st but is now signed through the 2026-27 season. Skinner set a new career-high and led the Sabres with 40 goals and ranked third on the team with 63 points in 82 games. Skinner spent 70 percent of his 5v5 minutes on the top-line with Jack Eichel and the duo outscored the opposition 53-to-43 (per naturalstattrick.com).
The Stars have signed Mattias Janmark to a one-year contract extension worth $2.3 million.
Janmark, 26, took a step back in 2018-19, scoring just six goals with 19 assists (25 points) in 81 games. Janmark is a key penalty killer for the Stars, ranking third among forwards in shorthanded time on ice per game (1:30). During Dallas’ playoff run, Janmark had one goal and two assists (three points) while appearing in seven of their 13 playoff games.
The Jets have signed Seth Griffith to a one-year, $700K contract extension.
Griffith has bounced around the NHL quite a bit but has been an excellent point producer in the AHL. Griffith led Manitoba (AHL) in points, scoring 16 goals with 41 assists (57 points) in 69 games last season. The Jets have now inked their two leading AHL scorers from a year ago after also signing Logan Shaw last week.
The Oilers signed Brad Malone to a one-year contract extension.
Malone, 30, is a veteran AHL presence with 199 career NHL games of experience. Malone did not record a point in 16 games with the Oilers but had 25 points (8G / 17A) in 43 games with Bakersfield (AHL).
The Canadiens signed Brett Kulak to a three-year extension worth $5.55 million ($1.85M AAV).
In his first season with Montreal, Kulak split his season between the AHL and NHL. The 25-year-old had 11 points (3G / 8A) in 19 games with Laval before adding 17 points (6G / 11A) in 57 games with Montreal. Kulak figures to be a part of the Habs blueline plans to start the 2019-20 season.
The Oilers signed Olivier Rodrigue to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Rodrigue, 18, was picked in the second-round (No.62 overall) in 2018 and finished his third season with Drummondville (QMJHL) where he was 35-9-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .902 SV%.
The Blackhawks signed Slater Koekkoek to a one-year, $925K extension.
Koekkoek started the year in Tampa Bay before being traded to Chicago on January 11th and picking up one goal and four assists (five points) in 22 games with the Blackhawks. The 25-year-old now has 19 points (6G / 13A) in 107 career NHL games and figures to be a depth defenseman with the Blackhawks next year.

Smith stopped 49 of 52 shots in the Flames 3-2 overtime loss in Colorado in Game 4. The Flames find themselves down 3-1 heading back to Calgary but Smith has played exceptionally well, posting a .931 SV% through four games.That number is even more impressive when you realize that he is facing an average of 43.3 shots per game and saw 50-plus in back-to-back games in Colorado.

Smith allowed three goals on 39 shots in the Flames 3-2 OT loss to the Avalanche in Game 2. It wasn't as impressive as his Game 1 shutout, but Smith was tough to beat once again and the Flames will continue to be the favourites to win this series as long as he is playing well. Smith was 10-8-1 with a 2.64 GAA and .908 SV% on the road this season but playoffs Mike Smith seems like a different goalie.
Janmark (ankle) will be a game-time decision in Game 3.
Janmark played just 6:31 TOI in Game 2 before leaving the game with an ankle issue. Janmark missed the morning skate on Monday but is expected to take warmups and is considered a game-time decision. Janmark, who had just 25 points in the regular season, has just one shot and four PIMS through two games in the postseason.
