Copley allowed three goals on 17 shots after replacing Braden Holtby in the Capitals loss in Chicago on January 20th. Copley has struggled over the course of the last month, allowing a combined 15 goals on the last 94 shots (.840 SV%) that he has faced. In his first start against Colorado this season, Copley stopped 24 of 26 shots in a 3-2 overtime win (Nov.16).
Kuemer was banged up in a collision with Mattias Janmark on Monday and will not be available for Tuesday’s game. Adin Hill was recalled to backup Calvin Pickard.
Edler took an awkward fall, face-first onto the ice in Philadelphia on Monday and will remain in a Philadelphia area hospital while the Canucks travel to Washington. It was a scary fall and will likely result in Edler missing a fair amount of time. Look for Alex Biega to replace Edler in the lineup on Tuesday.
Kuemper allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Coyotes overtime loss in San Jose on Saturday. Kuemper has been excellent as of late, going 6-0-2 with a 2.20 GAA, .924 SV% and one shutout in his last eight starts. As solid as he has been, he is 7-6-2 with a 2.84 GAA and .908 SV% on the road and faces a hot Stars team tonight.
The Capitals backup has appeared in 19 games this season, going 10-5-3 while ranking 33rd in GAA (2.98) and SV% (.903). Copley has been a fine backup for Braden Holtby and will likely continue to start 30 percent of the Capitals games moving forward.

Kuemper has been impressive recently, winning six of his last seven starts (6-0-1) while posting a 2.10 GAA, .925 SV% and one shutout. The 28-year-old has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.88 GAA and .910 SV% in two starts vs. the Sharks this season.
Perry will make his season debut on Saturday, so Ondrej Kase was placed on LTIR to make room for the veteran winger to be activated.
Perry will his first game of the season and is expected to start on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell. Perry is now 33-years-old and coming off of a 17-goal, 32-assist (49 points) season a year ago.
Kopitar skipped the Kings morning skate and is questionable for tonight’s game in Brooklyn. The Kings are already a bad team and would be extremely thin if Kopitar can’t play. Monitor his status as the Kings hit the ice for pre-game warmups.
With Andreas Johnsson out a concussion, Moore returns to the Maple Leafs. Moore had three points (1G / 2A) in six games with the Maple Leafs earlier this season and is tied for the Marlies team-lead in goals (19) in 32 games.
