Montreal Canadiens News
Price will start Thursday vs. the Senators.

Price allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Canadiens win over the Canucks on Monday. After starting the season at 1-0-2, Price has won three straight while turning aside 73 of the 79 shots (.924 SV%) that he's faced. He is a must-start Thursday vs. a Senators team that that is on a nine-game losing streak and sit 26th in the NHL in goals per game (2.40).

Laine will make his Blue Jackets debut on Tuesday.

It will be Laine's first game since the Jets' season opener on January 14th, where he scored two goals with one assist. Laine was dealing with an upper-body injury when he was traded but has fully recovered and will make his Blue Jackets' debut on Tuesday. In the morning skate, Laine was skating on a line with Alexandre Texier and Cam Atkinson, as well as on the top power-play unit.

Anderson (illness) will play Monday vs. Vancouver.

Anderson was sent home after the first period of Saturday's loss to the Flames because he was suffering from "flu-like symptoms." Anderson tested negative for COVID-19, so he is eligible to play tonight vs. the Canucks. He was on the ice for the morning skate and will skate in his usual spot with Nick Suzuki and Jonathan Drouin tonight.

Josh Anderson
Price will start Monday vs. the Canucks.

Price allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Canadiens' win over the Flames last Thursday. Jake Allen gave him the night off on Saturday, so it's no surprise that Price will start the front-end of Montreal's back-to-back on Monday. The Habs have been one of the most impressive teams in the NHL so far and Price comes in having won two straight while stopping 46 of the last 50 shots (.920 SV%) that he's faced.

The Blackhawks have signed Madison Bowey to a two-year deal worth $1.45M ($725K AAV).

Bowey spent the 2020 season with the Red Wings, where he had three goals and 14 assists (17 points) in 53 games. The 2013 second-round pick has picked up 39 points (5G / 34A) in 154 career NHL games with the Capitals and the Red Wings.

Price will start Thursday vs. the Flames.

Price allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Canadiens' win in Vancouver last Saturday. With four days off between games, it's no surprise that Price will start for the second straight game. He's alternated good and bad outings to start the season, posting a 3.14 GAA and .893 SV% in his first four outings. Tonight he'll face a Flames team that is coming off of back-to-back losses to the Maple Leafs and are 2-2-1 through five games.

The Blue Jackets have acquired Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic from the Jets for Pierre-Luc Dubois and a third-round pick.

Both Laine and Dubois were not happy in their current situations so swapping the two makes sense for both sides. Laine is currently on IR with an upper-body injury but given the mandatory 14-day quarantine, he should be fully healed once that's completed. Laine was outstanding in his first two seasons, scoring 90 goals in his first 155 NHL games, however he has just 60 goals in 151 games since. In Columbus his centre quality isn't going to improve, so it may be difficult for him to get back on that 40-goal pace we saw early in his career.

Patrik Laine
Laine (upper-body) will not play Tuesday in Ottawa.

Laine received treatment on Tuesday morning but head coach Paul Maurice says he's still not ready to play tonight. With Laine out, Andrew Copp moved into the top-6 in the third period of Monday's loss and the Jets are expected to stick with that configuration tonight in Ottawa.

Laine (upper-body) will not play Monday in Toronto.

Laine was banged up in Sunday's practice and will not be available tonight vs. the Maple Leafs. This is a tough blow for Laine, who had a red-hot start to the season, scoring two goals with one assist in the season opener. With Laine out, Jansen Harkins will make his season debut.
