The Flyers have claimed Kieffer Bellows off waivers from the Islanders.

Bellows was the No.19 overall pick in the 2016 NHL draft but had a hard time finding a permanent spot in the Islanders lineup. He appeared in 45 NHL games with them last season, scoring six goals and 13 assists (19 points). The 24-year-old will help replace James van Riemsdyk, who is out long-term with a hand injury.

Blankenburg (upper-body) is questionable to play Tuesday vs. Arizona.

Blankenburg left Sunday's game in New York with an upper-body injury and did not return. The Blue Jackets recalled Gavin Bayreuther from the AHL on Monday, suggesting that Blankenburg will be unavailable on Tuesday. Blankenburg had a strong start to the season, scoring one goal with one assist in four games.

Jakub Vrana was placed in the NHL/NHLPA Assistance Program Wednesday

Vrana will be out indefinitely as he enters the NHL/NHLPA Assistance Program. The seven-year veteran was enjoying a strong start to his season, collecting two points (1G/1A) through his first two games to start 2022-23. The Red Wings will hope to have him back in their lineup sooner rather than later as he is an integral part of their top six.
