Oesterle was questionable for Saturday’s game but his move to IR rules him out for at least one week. Aaron Ness was recalled to take Oesterele’s spot on the roster.

Oesterle took a puck in the back of the head on Thursday night and is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Senators. If Oesterle can’t play, Ilya Lyubushkin will draw into the lineup.

Saros allowed six goals on 37 shots in the Predators loss in Los Angeles last Saturday. Saros has had a forgettable start to the season, losing each of his first two games while allowing 10 goals on 64 shots (.844 SV%). He hasn’t had very difficult opponents either. Arizona comes in averaging just 2.20 goals per game (29th) so this could be a spot where Saros gets back on-track.

It looks like the Predators avoided disaster and Forsberg will not miss an extended period of time. Forsberg was forced to leave Tuesday’s game in the late stages and did not return. He was not on the ice for Wednesday’s optional practice and head coach Peter Laviolette said Forsberg will “probably” be a game-time decision on Thursday.
The Maple Leafs have recalled Kevin Gravel from Toronto (AHL).
Gravel has not registered a point in three games with the Marlies and will replace Rasmus Sandin on the Maple Leafs roster. He has 13 points (1G / 12A) in 106 career NHL games with the Kings and Oilers.

Saros’ start volume has increased each season he’s been in the NHL as the Predators are making a concerted effort to cut-back Pekka Rinne’s workload. 2018-19 was Saros’ worst season to date, but his .921 SV% through his first three years is among the NHL’s best. He did not face Detroit last season but was 6-5-1 with a 2.94 GAA and .902 SV% on home-ice.

The Canadiens have signed Michael Mccarron to a one-year, two-way contract.
McCarron was a first-round pick (No.25 overall) in 2013 but has yet to make an impact at the NHL level. The 24-year-old had 21 points (7G / 14A) in 32 games with Laval (AHL) last year, but had just one assist in 18 NHL games. In total, McCarron has just eight points (2G / 6A) and 110 PIMS in 69 career games with Montreal.
The Predators have signed Colton Sissons to a seven-year contract extension worth $20.0 million ($2.857M AAV).
Sissons set career-bests in goals (15) and points (30) in 75 games a season go. Sissons is an integral part of the Predators bottom-6, ranking second on the team in faceoffs (53.1 percent), first among Predators forwards in SH TOI/GM (1:59) and hits (109). It is the type of contract you don’t see very often for a player with Sissons role but the Predators are making a long-term commitment to him.
The Capitals have re-signed Jakub Vrana to a two-year contract worth $6.7M ($3.35M AAV).
After showing flashes of his potential in 2018, Vrana took another step forward in 2019, setting a carer-high in goals (24), assists (23) and points (47) in 82 games. Vrana did that while barely averaging over 14 minutes per game but could easily play closer to 16 minutes in the Capitals top-6 in 2020. With increased playing time, Vrana could be a legit 60-plus point threat.

The Senators have signed Andreas Englund to a one-year extension worth $700K.
Englund, 23, was a second-round pick in 2014 and has played sparingly in the NHL since, including three games this season. During his time in the AHL, the 6-foot-3, 189 lbs. defenseman scored three goals with 11 assists (14 points) in 68 games.
Oesterle will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.
Oesetrle will come out of the lineup to allow Jakob Chychrun to draw back into the lineup after being a healthy scratch for the last three games.
The Senators have recalled Andreas Englund from Belleville (AHL).
Englund will get a late-season look with the Senators after scoring three goals and 11 assists (14 points) in 65 AHL games this season. The 2014 second-round pick has great size (6-foot-4, 205 lbs.) and has not recorded a pick in six career NHL games.
