MacEwen has been recalled from Belleville (AHL).

MacEwen spent an early portion of the season with Ottawa, registering three points (2G / 1A) and 46 penalty minutes in 22 games, but has exclusively played in Belleville (AHL) over the last month. MacEwen will likely serve as a roster replacement for Josh Norris, who will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

The Penguins re-assigned Gruden to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) on Thursday.

Gruden returns to the AHL after just being recalled earlier today. Gruden played five games with Pittsburgh earlier this season but has spent the majority of the 2023-24 campaign in the AHL, scoring 23 points (13G / 10A) in 41 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Halonen has been reassigned to Utica (AHL).

Halonen made his NHL debut over the weekend, playing 9:47 time-on-ice and registering one shot on goal in a 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 25-year-old left-winger has enjoyed a solid season in Utica, with 13 goals, 17 points, 10 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus in 21 games played before his call-up.

Gruden has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) on Thursday.

Bryan Rust was placed on Injured Reserve on Thursday, allowing the Penguins to recall Gruden. Gruden played five games with Pittsburgh earlier this season but has spent the majority of the 2023-24 campaign in the AHL, scoring 23 points (13G / 10A) in 41 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Daws took a seat in the Devils' previous game as he backed up Akira Schmid in a loss but will make his eighth start in the last nine games on Tuesday. The 23-year-old has had an up-and-down second season in New Jersey but seems to be their starter for the time being, with his 7-8-0 record, 3.30 GAA and .895 SV%. He draws a favourable matchup on Tuesday in San Jose, who has lost three straight and is 31st in the NHL in goals per game (2.09).

The 34-year-old veteran netminder is the talk of the Trade Deadline market at the moment and deservedly so due to his 19-15-2 record, 2.58 GAA and .914 SV%. He will host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, who are on the second half of a back-to-back after losing to Edmonton on Monday.

With Nathan Bastian (lower body) finding himself on Injured Reserve, Brian Halonen earned his first career call-up to the New Jersey Devils from Utica (AHL) on Friday. The 25-year-old left-winger has been enjoying a solid season in Utica in 2023-24, with 13 goals, 17 points, 10 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus in 21 games played before his call up.

Daws will start against the Rangers on Thursday.

Daws will get an immediate shot at redemption after his shot streak came to a sudden end in Washington on Tuesday. Daws allowed six goals on just 26 shots in the 6-2 defeat, ending a run of four straight starts where the the 23-year-old netminder posted a .931 SV% or better. Daws owns a 6-7-0 record in 13 starts on the season to go along with a .903 SV% and a 3.18 GAA. He draws a difficult assignment on Thursday at home against the Rangers, though New York could be without Artemi Panarin (lower-body).

Markstrom will start on Thursday vs. Boston.

Markstrom will return to the crease for the ninth time in the last 10 games when the Flames face off against the Boston Bruins on Thursday. Markstrom has allowed three or fewer goals in six of his last seven games (5-2-0) and saved 28 of 31 shots (.903 SV%) on Monday, a 6-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets. The Flames enter action as +110 home underdogs.

Daws will start in Washington on Tuesday.

The Devils will turn to Daws for the fifth-consecutive game when the team travels to Washington to take on the Capitals on Tuesday night. Daws has been outstanding since filling in for the injured Vitek Vanecek (lower-body), compiling a 3-1-0 record across his last four starts, posting a .942 SV% in the process. He turned in a fantastic performance in the outdoor game against the Flyers on Saturday, stopping 45 of the 48 shots he faced enroute to a 6-3 victory. Daws and the Devils look poised to stay in the win column on Tuesday as they find themselves as -165 favourites over the Capitals.
