Bernier allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Red Wings win over the Canadiens on Tuesday. Bernier has gone 2-2-0 with a 2.02 GAA, .936 SV% and one shutout in his last four starts and draws a great matchup with the Senators in town on Friday. Ottawa has lost 10 of their last 11 road games while scoring just 2.00 goals per game.

Bernier will start Tuesday vs. the Canadiens.

Bernier allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Red Wings 4-1 loss in Dallas last Friday. Jimmy Howard started Sunday but they'll come back to Bernier on Howard bobblehead night when they host the Canadiens. Montreal played last night and Bernier is 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .962 SV% in two starts against them this season, so he could be an option tonight if you're desperate.

Markstrom will start Tuesday in Tampa Bay.

Markstrom allowed one goal on 37 shots in the Canucks win over the Rangers on Saturday. Markstrom continues his red-hot stretch of play, winning six straight starts while posting a 2.49 GAA and .932 SV%. As good as he has been, that run may come to an end in Tampa Bay. The Lightning are cooking right now, having won seven in a row while averaging 4.14 goals per game.

Bernier led the Red Wings onto the ice for warmups.

Bernier stopped all 34 shots that he faced in Red Wings shutout win over the Sharks on Tuesday. Bernier has gone 3-2-0 with a 1.78 GAA, .951 SV% and one shutout in his last six starts. He's been terrific but it's hard to warrant starting him behind the league's worst offence. Especially in Dallas, where the starts are 12-3-1 while scoring 3.19 goals per game in their last 16.

Markstrom will start Thursday vs. the Blackhawks.

Markstrom allowed two goals on 51 shots in the Canucks win over the Kings last Saturday. It was a fantastic game for Markstrom, who has won four straight while posting a 2.24 GAA and .941 SV%. He has gone 7-5-2 with a 2.48 GAA, .924 SV% and one shutout on home-ice this year but will face a Chicago team that is heating up, winning five of their last six with 3.83 goals per game.

Jacob Markstrom
Hughes (upper-body) will not play on Thursday.

Hughes was banged up late in Tuesday's shootout win over the Bruins but returned to the game and played in overtime. He was on the ice for Thursday's morning skate but will not play tonight, but his availability for the skate suggests it's a very minor issue.

Allen will start Tuesday in Arizona.

Allen allowed two goals on 36 shots in the Blues win in San Jose on December 21st. Jordan Binnington started the last three games but it looks like Allen will start New Year's Even in Arizona. Allen has gone 4-1-0 with a 1.39 GAA, .958 SV% and one shutout in his last six outings (five starts). He draws a solid road matchup in Arizona, vs. a Coyotes team that has lost three in a row while scoring just 1.67 goals per game.

Bernier will start Tuesday vs. the Sharks.

Bernier stopped 37 of 39 shots in the Red Wings 2-1 loss in Tampa Bay on Sunday. It was a strong outing from Bernier, who has gone 2-2-0 with a 2.21 GAA and .940 SV% in his last five starts. Despite playing for the worst team in the NHL, Bernier has played very well recently and draws a nice matchup tonight vs. San Jose--the Sharks have lost four straight on the road while scoring just 1.25 goals per game.
