


Lycksell has been recalled to the big club for the second time this season after a short one-game showing earlier in the year. The 23-year-old has had a successful season with Lehigh (AHL) prior to the call-up, with five goals, 16 points and a -3 plus/minus through 16 games in the minors.

Makiniemi played well in his two San Jose Shark appearances with a 1-0-1 record, .906 SV% and 2.13 GAA. He heads back to the Barracuda (AHL) due to James Reimer returning to the team from a lower-body injury.


York will make his 2022-23 Flyers debut as he draws into the lineup for Tony DeAngelo (healthy scratch) Friday. The 2019 1st-round pick (19th overall) had three goals, 10 assists and four PIMs in 20 games played with Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Makiniemi allowed two goals on eight shots (.750 SV%) in relief hockey in his first career NHL appearance last game vs. the Vancouver Canucks. He will get the first start of his career Friday after posting a 6-4-2 record and .918 SV% with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL). He draws a good first matchup with the Anaheim Ducks, who are 30th in the NHL in goals for per game (2.48) and 21st in shots (30.2).

Zamula will head back to Lehigh Valley (AHL) after putting up two assists, six SOG and a -1 plus/minus through 11 games and 13:45 ATOI.


Simmonds will head to the press box as his Toronto Maple Leafs take on his old team, the Los Angeles Kings. The veteran winger has an assists, four PIMs and six SOG through limited action as a member of the Leafs' fourth line.


Poehling will miss his first game of the season Tuesday due to an upper-body injury, although it does not seem too serious as he skated in the morning. The 23-year-old has four goals, three assists and 28 SOG through 25 games played this season while averaging 11:23 TOI.



Konecny has not played since Nov.17th due to an upper-body injury but will be a game-time decision Thursday as Philadelphia takes on Tampa Bay. At the time of injury Konecny was leading the team in both goals (7) and points (19) through 17 games played.

Cates will head back to Lehigh Valley of the AHL after failing to pick up any points and four SOG through five games while averaging very limited minutes with 8:59 ATOI. He heads back to the AHL where he had four goals and seven points in 11 games prior to his previous promotion.

Laughton will return from injured reserve after missing the Flyers' last four games due to an upper-body injury. The 28-year-old will have a welcome return for Philadelphia who has lost ten straight games. Laughton has three goals and seven points with 44 SOG while averaging a career-high 19:09 TOI.

It's unclear who Zamula will replace, but Tony DeAngelo is a game-time decision, so it will be him if DeAngelo can't go. If DeAngelo ends up playing, look for Nick Seeler or Justin Braun to come out.

Zamula is back up with the Flyers where he posted two assists, a +1 plus/minus with four SOG through nine games in his previous stint with Philadelphia earlier in the season. He will be looking to add to his 21 career NHL games played and improve on his -4 plus/minus rating across those games.
