Thompson hurt his shoulder vs. the Hurricanes on Friday and is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on Tuesday. Even with Kevin Hayes back in the mix, Thompson's injury likely means that Morgan Frost will remain with the team.
With Derick Brassard getting hurt on Tuesday night, Forst has been summoned from the AHL and is expected to make his season debut on Wednesday. Frost is leading Lehigh Valley with 15 points (3G / 12A) in 16 games.
Ellis previously missed nine games with a lower-body injury but returned to the Flyers lineup in Dallas on Saturday. Ellis registered one assist in 18:45 TOI but re-injured himself and is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks.
With Cedric Paquette landing on IR on Wednesday, Poehling will centre the fourth line vs. the Flames. Poehling has scored three goals with three assists (six points) in seven AHL games this season.
Ellis was expected to be back in the lineup on Wednesday, but apparently, his injury is lingering. Not being available for Wednesday's game in Edmonton, certainly makes him questionable for Thursday as well.
Ellis was missing from Friday's practice and is expected to miss Saturday's game vs. the Panthers. With Ellis out, look for Justin Braun to skate on the top pair with Ivan Provorov.
Ristolainen missed the first two games of the season with an upper-body injury but will play Wednesday vs. the Bruins. Look for Ristolainen to skate on the second pairing with Travis Sanheim in his debut.
