Carlsson has not played a game with the Sharks this season and will start his 2024-25 campaign with the San Jose Barracuda. The 27-year-old Carlsson scored 39 points (15G / 24A) in 52 games with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) last season.

Thompson will remain in the Sharks lineup on Tuesday as Jake Walman is unable to suit up due to an upper-body injury. The 22-year-old Thompson has been productive from the blueline for the Sharks, scoring four points (1G / 3A) in seven games this season.

Despite being on the losing end of a 4-3 shootout loss to the New York Islanders in their previous outing, the Penguins will roll with Nedeljkovic between the pipes for a fourth straight game. The 28-year-old Nedeljkovic has shown flashes of strong play, despite porous defensive coverage by his teammates at times, salvaging a 2.76 GAA and .900 SV% in six contests (2-2-2). The Penguins enter the action on Thursday as sizeable +229 road underdogs against a Carolina Hurricanes squad riding a seven-game winning streak.

Giles is a Boston College product that spent the previous three season with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) before making his NHL debut this season. The 24-year-old Giles averaged 7:23 time-on-ice and scored zero points in nine games with the Panthers.

With Macklin Celebrini and Ty Dellandrea both returning from injuries, the Sharks have assigned Ethan Cardwell and Danil Gushchin to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL). The 22-year-old Cardwell went scoreless in three games with the Sharks and with return to the Barracuda, where he has one goal and four assists through six AHL games.

In his first season with the Sharks, Dellandrea has one point (1G / 0A), a -5 plus/minus, five blocks, and 24 hits in nine games. He was placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to October 26th and will make his return to the lineup on Tuesday, November 5th against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Penguins, winners of two straight, will roll with Nedeljkovic between the pipes for a third consecutive game on Tuesday when they visit the New York Islanders. Despite an unspectacular 2.75 GAA and .903 SV% through five games (2-2-1), Nedeljkovic has been tremendous in his last two outings (2-0-0), saving a combined 47 of 49 shots (.959 SV%). The Penguins enter the action on Tuesday as +112 road underdogs against an Islanders club with only 28 goals through 12 games this season, the second-fewest in the NHL.

Celebrini had a scorching hot start to his NHL career, scoring two points (1G / 1A) in the Sharks' season-opener, but has not played since, missing 12 straight games. The first-overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft is slated to make his return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, likely skating on a line with Tyler Toffoli and Mikael Granlund.
