Gibson turned aside 47 of 50 shots in the Islanders overtime loss in Pittsburgh on Saturday. It was a tough luck loss for Gibson, who was making his season debut, following 33 strong games in Bridgeport (AHL). He will look for his second NHL win in his sixth career game tonight in Edmonton.

The 25-year-old, former second-round pick has gone 18-11-1 with a 2.31 GAA, .909 SV% and four shutouts in 33 games with Bridgeport (AHL) this season. His first start comes against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
