The Flames went into Tampa Bay and beat up on the Bolts a few weeks ago so the Lighting will be looking to get some revenge in Calgary tonight.


Hedman has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury that looked serious at first but it looks like he’ll return ahead of his three week timetable. Hedman skated on the top pairing and top PP unit during Tuesday’s morning skate and is expect to play tonight in Winnipeg.

Hedman, who suffered a lower-body injury on January 11th, will travel with the team to Western Canada, which is a good sign that he’s getting closer to a return. Hedman is three weeks in to a three-to-six week timetable, so his return is expected to be on the horizon. The Lightning get back into action on Tuesday, so monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate and then as the week progresses.

He will look to get back on track tonight in Chicago—he stopped 29 of 31 shots in a 3-2 OT win in his first game vs. the Blackhawks.


Vasilevskiy allowed five goals on 24 shots in the Lightning’s loss to the Flames last Thursday. Vasilevskiy has faltered as of late, losing three of his last four with a 3.96 GAA and .874 SV%. He draws a tough matchup with Vegas in town, but Vasilevskiy has gone 16-2-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .917 SV% on home ice.

McDonagh missed Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh because he said his backed tightened up on him late in Saturday’s game vs. the Islanders. McDonagh was back on the Rangers second power-play unit this morning, so look for him to replace with Brendan Smith or Steve Kampfer in the lineup tonight. McDonagh is still searching for his first goal of the season, but is tied for 10th among defensemen in assists (19).
