Hronek was able to suit up for four games for the Vancouver Canucks before it was announced Friday that he would miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season due to a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old finishes his campaign with nine goals, 30 assists, 124 SOG, 34 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus through 64 games played between Vancouver and Detroit.

The Canucks signed Akito Hirose to a one-year entry-level contract.

Hirose had four goals, 23 assists, 18 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus through 38 games with Minnesota State University (NCAA) and has signed a one-year, entry-level contract which will begin right away. The 23-year-old will become a restricted free-agent at the end of the season.

Nathan Smith has been recalled from Tucson (AHL) and is expected to make his season Friday vs. Colorado.

Smith had 11 goals, 14 assists, 37 PIMs and a -12 plus/minus through 58 games with the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL) and has been recalled to Arizona for the first time this season. The 24-year-old has previously played in 10 NHL games, scoring two goals and two assists with a -1 plus/minus.

Filip Hronek will make his Canucks' debut Thursday (shoulder).

Hronek was traded to the Canucks nearly a month ago and is expected to make his Vancouver debut Thursday as he is recovered from a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old has played very well when healthy this season, with nine goals, 29 assists, 122 SOG, 34 PIMs and a +8 plus/minus through 60 games this season.
