Oshie was hurt against the Flyers on February 22nd, but will be back with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom on the top line tonight. The Red Wings have acquired Dylan McIlrath and a conditional 2017 3rd round pick from the Panthers for Thomas Vanek.

McIlrath, 24, was the 10th overall pick in 2010 and has had a tough time elevating his game to the NHL-level. The 6-foot-5, 220 lbs. defenseman has been waived a few times this season and will likely report to Grand Rapids (AHL). McIlrath has one goal and three assists in 22 AHL games this season and five points (3G / 2A) in 43 career NHL games.

Carlson (lower-body) will return to the Capitals lineup on Tuesday.

Carlson missed the last six games with a lower-body injury, but will return to the lineup tonight in Brooklyn. Carlson will be on the top pair with Karl Alzner, but won’t return to the top power play. He has 25 points (5G / 20A) in 43 games this season.

John Carlson
Carlson (lower-body) “has got a good chance” to play on Tuesday.

Carlson missed the final six games before the All-Star break, but it looks like he’ll play Tuesday in Brooklyn. Carlson would return to his spot alongside Karl Alzner on the top-pair and comes in with five goals and 20 assists (25 points) in 43 games this season.

John Carlson
Carlson (lower-body) won’t play Monday vs. the Hurricanes.

Carlson was on the ice for the Capitals’ morning skate, but will miss his fourth straight game with a lower-body injury. The Capitals have a back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday, so monitor his status prior to tomorrow’s game vs. the Sharks.

John Carlson
Carlson (lower-body) missed Wednesday's practice; doubtful to play on Thursday.

Carlson missed Monday’s game in Pittsburgh, but was expected to play on Thursday. Because he was unable to practice this morning, he is now listed as questionable and it seems like a more likely return date is Saturday in Dallas.

Oshie (upper-body) is expected to return to the Capitals lineup on Wednesday.

Oshie missed Monday’s game in Montreal, but will play tonight vs. the Penguins. Oshie has played well recently, scoring three goals with two assists (five points) in his last five games. He will skate on the top line with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom.
