At this point we still don't know where Niederreiter fits in with the Isles. The rookie has yet to play in a regular season game after getting injured in the preseason. He could get the full nine games before the team makes a decision.

Nyquist will play on a line with Bertuzzi and Franzen.
Nyquist will get every chance to succeed with the big club. He may be a big-time sleeper if he sticks with the Wings as he's impressed at every level.

The Detroit Red Wings have recalled skilled forward Gustav Nyquist from the Grand Rapids Griffins. He will make his NHL debut Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild at Joe Louis Arena (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports Net Detroit).
Nyquist has clearly impressed team brass with four goals and nine points over nine games at the AHL. Look for him to get a shot on a scoring line.

Niederreiter skating with linemates could be a good indication he is healthy. Considering John Tavares was absent from today's practice, it becomes a bit more difficult to asses the situation.

Niederreiter was on the bubble to stay in the NHL before his injury but may get sent back to Juniors due to rust. Stay tuned for a further update on the team's top prospect.
Nino Niederreiter has skated on Long Island the past few days and soon might be ready to make his season debut. Someone has to come out of the lineup when that happens. Fair or not, considering the playing time they've been allotted, Bailey and Comeau have not distinguished themselves.

The sky is certainly the limit for Toews, who posted career highs in assists and points last season. At this point in his career, he should continue to improve, landing in the 35-goal, 75-point range. With so many question marks in the first round, the former 3rd overall pick certainly would not have been a reach.
