Eric Comrie will be out week-to-week after an MRI showed issues on his knee.

Comrie had to leave halfway through the Sabres' game Wednesday vs. Ottawa with a knee injury after stopping 22 of 24 shots (.917 SV%). It was announced Friday that the Sabres' starter had an MRI on his need which showed some issues so he will be out week-to-week in the meantime. The 27-year-old has struggled this season with a 4-7-0 record, .887 SV% and 3.62 GAA.

Comrie had to leave halfway through the Sabres' game Wednesday vs. Ottawa with an undisclosed injury after stopping 22 of 24 shots (.917 SV%). Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was recalled from Rochester (AHL) to replace Comrie, indicating the injury will be taking some time for the 26-year-old netminder.

Hellebuyck stopped 32 of 35 shots (.914 SV%) in a loss to Calgary his last time out. The 29-year-old has been enjoying a Vezina Trophy-worthy season, posting a 7-3-1 record with two shutouts, a .935 SV% and a 2.08 GAA. He takes on the Anaheim Ducks who have struggled offensively ranking 26th in the NHL in goals per game (2.69) and 24th in SOG (30.2).

Ville Heinola has been recalled from Manitoba (AHL).

Heinola will get his first taste of NHL action in 2022-23 after being recalled from Manitoba of the AHL. He had been enjoying a fairly strong early campaign, with seven assists and a +12 plus/minus rating across only 11 games played. The 2019 first-round pick (20th overall) has played in 25 career NHL games with one goal and 10 points prior to this season.

Hellebuyck was perfect in his previous start, stopping 30 of 30 shots while picking up his first shutout of the season over Chicago. Hellebuyck has been one of the NHLs best goaltenders this season, ranking second in Wins (6), fourth in SV% (.936 SV%) and sixth in GAA (2.09). He draws the tough task of the Central leading Dallas Stars who are on a three game winning streak, averaging six goals in each of their wins.

Comrie allowed four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%) in his last start, losing to Tampa Bay on the road 5-3. It is a revenge game for Comrie who has posted a 4-4-0 record alongside a .894 SV% and 3.38 GAA with Buffalo after being acquired by Winnipeg in the offseason. He was a member of Arizona in 2019 before being placed on waivers without seeing any NHL action. He takes on the struggling Coyotes Tuesday who rank last in the NHL in SOG/GP with only 23.4.

Head coach Rick Bowness announced Thursday that Morgan Barron will be out at least 4-5 weeks after undergoing wrist surgery. The 23-year-old has played well to start the season, collecting four points (1G/3A) and 15 SOG through nine games.

Hellebuyck was the hard-lucked losing goalie his last time out, stopping 46 of 48 shots (.958 SV%) in a 3-2 overtime loss to Vegas. He has been exceptional this season, holding a 4-2-1 record while posting a .931 SV% and 2.41 GAA. He faces off against the Montreal Canadiens who are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Wild and rank 26th in goals per game (2.8).
