Helleson will make his season debut on Friday vs. Detroit.

Urho Vaakanainen (undisclosed) will exit the lineup due to injury, allowing Helleson to make his season debut. Helleson was the second-round pick, 47th overall, of the Colorado Avalanche in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 23-year-old made his NHL debut with the Ducks in the 2022-23 season, playing three games, but has played exclusively in the AHL since.

Helleson had a goal, four SOG, and two PIMs through three games with Anaheim but has been reassigned to San Diego (AHL) for the remainder of their season. The 22-year-old returns to San Deigo (AHL), where he had five goals, 13 assists, 50 PIMs and a -18 plus/minus through 63 games earlier this season.

The Ducks have signed Drew Helleson to a three-year entry-level contract.

Helleson was acquired from the Avalanche in the Josh Manson trade on Monday and signed with the Ducks on Tuesday. Helleson, who has 25 points (4G / 21A) in 32 games at Boston College this season, is expected to play in the AHL after the college season is over.
