Lindholm was forced to leave Thursday's game and did not return.

Lindholm received a vicious slash from Darren Helm and left Thursday's win but it doesn't sound like the injury is overly serious. Lindholm is not expected to practice on Friday but has not been ruled out for Saturday's game in Los Angeles.

The Flames acquired Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin from the Hurricanes for Dougie Hamilton, Michael Ferland and Adam Fox.

The Hurricanes were reportedly far apart in their contract negotiations with Lindholm, who is an RFA. With no contract in sight, the Hurricanes elected to move on from the former No.5 overall pick (2013), who has averaged just 14 goals and 28 assists (42 points) over the last four seasons. Matt Cane of HockeyGraphs predicts a five-year extension worth $24.98M ($4.978M AAV) for Lindholm.

Lindholm (upper-body) is questionable to play Tuesday vs. New Jersey.

Lindholm missed Saturday’s game in Tampa Bay, but head coach Bill Peters said Lindholm is “close” and could go through the morning skate on Tuesday. Lindholm has scored two goals with two assists in his last three games, but if he can’t go vs. the Devils tonight, Andrej Nestrasil will remain on a line with Jordan Staal.

Lindholm has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Canucks. Lindholm will skate on the top line with Jordan Staal and Joakim Nordstrom—he comes in with seven points (2G / 5A) in 23 games this season.

Lindholm (lower-body) traveled to Anaheim; could play on Wednesday.

Lindholm has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but participated in Tuesday’s practice and travelled out west with the team. Monitor his status during Wednesday’s morning skate, but he should play on this trip.
