The Hurricanes are trying to get Elias Lindholm to Buffalo for Tuesday's game.

Lindholm was with Team Sweden in Sweden for the World Junior Championships. Weather is making it difficult for him to get to Buffalo, but should he make it, he will likely be in the lineup on Tuesday. Lindholm was tied for seventh in tournament scoring with two goals and seven assists (9 points) in seven games.

Lindholm is expected to be loaned to Sweden to play in the World Junior Championships.

Hurricanes head coach Kirk Muller says they are going to sit down with Lindholm to make a final decision, but it appears as if it is a guarantee that Lindholm will join the Swedish National team on December 22. He has three goals and four assists in 21 games with Carolina.

The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled Elias Lindholm from Charlotte (AHL).

Lindholm, 18, was selected fifth overall in the 2013 NHL Draft had one goal and one assist in 10 games with the Hurricanes before being sent to Charlotte. With the Checkers he posted a goal and two assists in six games. He arrives in town to help revive Carolina's struggling power-play. They rank 28th in the NHL with a 11.9% success rate on the PP. Chris Terry has been returned to the AHL to make room for Lindholm.

Lindholm had one goal and one assist with a minus-4 rating while averaging 11:39 TOI in 10 games with the Hurricanes. He was the fifth overall pick in this year's draft. He is going to the AHL where he will see a lot more ice-time and gain some valuable experience.

Lindholm has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury. The fifth overall pick in this years draft has one goal and a minus-1 rating while averaging 8:51 TOI.

It's getting close to decision time on whether or not to burn Lindholm’s first year of his entry level deal. Lindholm’s recurring "upper-body" problems could make that decision a little easier on Carolina. Consider his day-to-day.

Lindholm played just 7:34 with a minus-1 rating yesterday. He went to the locker room briefly because of an arm laceration, but did return. He continued to practice on the first power-play unit this morning so he should be considered probable for tomorrow's game.

Lindholm was selected with the fifth overall pick in this year's draft. Lindholm has some of the best hands available in this year's draft. Keep an eye on Lindholm early in the season, he would be a great pickup (especially in a keeper league) if he sticks with Carolina.

The Carolina Hurricanes on Monday signed their top 2013 NHL Draft pick, 18-year-old forward Elias Lindholm, to a three-year, entry-level contract during a news conference to introduce him to the local media.

Lindholm's game is said to be more of a two-way style so while GM Jim Rutherford expects Lindholm to be with the Canes when training camp starts, he isn't expected to have much fantasy impact.
